Trading an injured basket case who can leave after this year for the best rebounder in the league?

Considering what they gave up for Bynum and what they expected to get from him, ending up with Varejao would probably not be considered their ideal scenario. Look, Varejao, right now, is obviously better than Bynum, who can't get on the court. However, trading the second-best center in the league (when healthy) for a thirty-year old who is also injury prone is probably not going to go over well with the typically hostile Philly fans.

Sacramento continues to be a toxic mess. Even still, I think we need to stay away from Cousins. He came into the league with this reputation - it was often stated pre-draft that he could've been in play for top pick, or surely #2, had he not come in with the character red flags. Even Minny passed him by at 4 that year. No doubt he's incredibly talented but when (if?) will he get it?

They can have Casspi back.

We aren't the ones who said he's a bigger Chris Webber.

He's been compared to a bigger Chris Webber since Kentucky.. Chris Webber himself said they have the same abilities which is what I said. C-Webb was even mentoring him for a little.

I don't know if you guys actually watch Cousins play.. but yes, he can pass. Yes, he does have a similar skill set to Chris Webber. By no means does that mean he will ever be as good, but they have the same skill set.

“I say Cousins is the most talented big man in the League,” - Chirs Webber over summer.

Trade threads are usually filled with hilarious unrealism with some hyperbolas thrown in there. And this one is no different.

Ontopic, AV for Cousins should get it done but the Maloofs are too busy losing money to care.

I could be wrong but wasn't DMC a big part of the reason the US Select team (and Kyrie) beat the Olympic team in their scrimmages this summer?

I just think he's a big time talent and a big time risk. I read an article where Pat Riley loves him because "other teams fear him." We currently don't have that.

I also watched a video where Coach Cal said DMC is misunderstood and he's fine as long as communication lines are open on both sides.

I don't know, maybe he'd get in line in Cleveland knowing it's Kyrie's team and he doesn't have to carry that burden. It seemed to work well at Kentucky; I also wonder what he'd be like with an actual PG feeding him the ball......

Perfect Center next to TT and the perfect aggressive player we need on this team.

Now if he didn't seem like a total cancer then I would think he is a player you throw some assest around for. Personally I'd love for him to be our Center over Zeller/Andy/Noel/Z2/and Len. But I'd also not sell the farm for him when we are in the position to take said Noel/Len in the upcomming draft.

As we know Cousins is a special talent, no matter the risk you gotta take him. The possibilities of having a potentially star center plus Kyrie is worth it, by far. He fits our scheme exactly - young and athletic.

Since this was brought up, I might as well throw this trade in.

Cavs Get
Cousins
Salmons

Kings Get
Bynum

Philly Gets
AV

Works salary wise and would probably need some picks in there somewhere to even things out. Not a bad deal all around really. Philly has been hanging around without Bynum and a player like AV could really help them. Sac gets rid of an attitude problem, some salary, and gets an expiring for this year. Cavs get a potential All-Star, albeit with some major baggage. Not likely to happen, but it's at least something that isn't insanely lopsided.
the 76ers could use cousins a hell of a lot more than varejao. they are trying to build around their young talent, which is why they traded their primary vet for a young (albeit injured) star in the first place. another aging vet is the last thing they need.

teh problem is if he didn't seem like a total cancer, sacramento wouldn't entertain any potential deal the cavs would even offer.

that's why he's an interesting option. the kings are forced to sell low-ish if they want to move him, but if a team feels they can turn him around they are able to get him at a relatively cheap price given his skills. dunno if the cavs are that confident in their organization tho, or really if they should be.

Wonder if the deal would involve MKG or not. Interesting however.

Probably a Tweet to spike his trade value. I'm guessing based on that statement, it goes as follows.

Biyombo, 2013 First Round pick, and Sessions or Kemba for DMC.

Seems far-fetched to believe they would dump MKG but has to be a good deal.
