It's grilling season.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Consumer reports usually has a yearly grill review. I would be on the lookout for that.

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

I'm considering investing in a three burner gas grill instead of the old used charcoal grill I currently use. Can somebody tell me why this is or is not worth it?

Depends on your state of mind.

Charcoal is awesome. No if's or and's about it. However, if you're trying to feed a party or family I would suggest the three burner due to it's reliability.

When it comes down to it, propane and charcoal are both fantastic but the propane win's hands down because you can trap flavors just as well on propane than you can on charcoal and that's what really counts. Time is not the issue with a propane yet taste just as great.

I feel the same way about my farts.

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Charcoal? I'm in the market...you order it online?

Propane. Impulse buy while at Home Depot, but I think i made the same choice i wouldve made had i researched it. They have free assembly. Free shipping if you order online. I think they had 12 month 0% financing if you need it...maybe it was 6 months, not sure.

Propane is such a time savor. So convenient, no effort. Especially in Cleveland for winter grilling. I don't notice any difference in flavor. A 3 burner is a must.

Buy a Weber. I bought a Weber off someone in college when i was a sophomore. It was a couple years old, it went on to last another 13 years. Then a few years ago, like an asshole, I bought some behemoth 5 burner, with side burners and a rotisserie that I saw at Sears. It was a Kenmore. I thought it was awesome and it was cheap. It was really cheap....literally. Fucking thing started disintegrating within a year. Learned my lesson. Weber lasted 15+ years, the Kenmore lasted 2.

Weber's are bulletproof. You'll pay more for a Weber than any other grill, but it will least 3-5x as long as any other grill. A nice even burn, no hot spots. Just a great quality and value.

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Max- what type of Weber did you buy? And in your opinion which Weber is the best bang for your buck?
I'm also currently in the market for a brand new grill and after reading your post, I did some research by an overwhelming majority Weber is the most favorably rated grill

I've got a propane Weber too and I love it. Had it for about 5 years now and it still works great. The only issue I've ever had is the igniter sometimes not working. When that's the case I just use a long fireplace lighter and it lights right up.

Just power washed my deck to get the dirt and stuff off, now I can relax and grill up a nice steak tomorrow.

The Spirit E-210 only had 2 burners and a small surface...that was out. It was $399
The Spirit E-310 had 3 burners and a much bigger space. It was $499.
The Genesis E-310 had a slightly larger grilling area than the Spirit E-310. It was $699. It looked a little nicer because the dials were on the front instead of on the side, but that seemed irrelevant to me.

I went with the Spirit E-310. To me it seemed like the best value. All the major components had long ass warranties to which is nice.

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Thanks Max for the info! It is appreciated! When I get mine I'll be sure to share!

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

I'm just going to throw this out there for the sake of conjecture, but you might have a guy that is a national sales rep for many high end grill products, maybe a guy who sells to people that you'd be buying from right here on this board. I don't know, maybe someone should PM him and he might be able to pass along some deals or help some people out if they're looking for a good grill.

I don't know, most of his shit might be too high end for you fellas, even at wholesale they're not cheap, but you'd usually be looking at far less than what you could buy it in a store

Who is it? How did I miss this? I'm depressed....now i'm going to drink twice as much at the bars tonight. Uggh...

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Maybe I knew this all along. Maybe I am wondering if you can hook a guy up in California, perhaps after my April 30th paycheck....

ALSO

Maybe I just used an epic rub on my steak tonight that I highly recommend:

Check out the Argentinian steak rub. I know it's about eleven bucks, but that is a six pack of rub packets, and I've been using one pack of steak rub for two months so far.

Viking is the shit. I've had smaller grilles that worked well, but now that I have this one, I'll never go back...

I thought the rotisserie would be the best part, but it's kind of annoying, only used it once or twice. That's what it looks like new, mines a couple years old now...

Re: It's fucking grilling season.

Isn't a god damn person here that can consider them a real grill master if you use fucking propane.

FUCK PROPANE.

While charcoal probably gives a better overall flavor, propane is just so much easier and convenient. It's also easier to control the amount of heat you want to put out. Plus, the propane traps flavor just fine.

You're all a bunch of bullshit men then. I need real fire. I only want gas for a range indoors. Not for my grilling.
