Is he not even 6'5"?

Is he not even 6'5"?
He measured 6'5 at the combine in shoes coming out of college. He conceivably grew .25 inches since then.

I'm a Pac-12 guy and he was a solid college player that many thought would be a decent NBA guy. He's yet to really prove anything on the court in a regular season game. He always seemed under motivated to me watching him when he was younger, but maybe he's maturing.

Looks also like he maybe didn't have an NBA body until now? What do you think.

He was always a really skinny dude but he does look like he's packed on some muscle.

Showed a surprising amount of skill: guys who can handle, pass the ball to the open shooter, and can also hit the 3 point shoot typically easily attach onto the roster.

So far hasn't shown much of an ability to finish with his left hand (was able to drive left unlike Dejuan Wagner) but couldn't really find another obvious hole.

Could you by any chance also show us a picture of what you had for lunch and tell us how your fantasy draft went?

I had Chicken Dum Biryani.

Fantasy draft went bad. Wanted to be drafted by Cavs. Didn't happen.

The thing that impresses me is his defense. He's not just out there gambling for steals...he actually has great defensive instincts. Like he blew up a couple of pick and rolls where he jumped in front of the ball handler and around the pick setter. You don't see that often from point guards.
I've been most impressed by his defense too. Its not the steals but his awareness and ability to draw offensive fouls. He moves his feet well and has good lateral quickness (Harris does not). In two preseason games he's caused numerous turnovers from offensive fouls.

Do we need another guard though?

SF is probably a bigger need but when one player seperates himself from the rest like Cunningham did you keep him as the 15th guy regardless of position. plus as others have mentioned with Kyrie and Shump still being out we could even use another G

It could give JR and shump some run at SF, which I think could be a good move. Backup SG minutes can be easily filled.

I am eager to see how Cunningham does with the first unit. Hopefully Coach Blatt can give him some mins alongside Mo, JR, LeBron and Moz.

Watched that 31 point scoring game, my parallel is Jarryd Bayless. I guess somebody can talk themselves into Cunningham as a combo guard, but he is more of a shooting guard in a point guard body. Luckily I really think this team could use a guy like that. I don't believe he will be a part of the rotation in meaningful games, but if the Cavaliers want to rest the more valuable scoring guards like Kyrie and Mo against lesser opponents, let the kid get some burn.

I think, if Blatt and the Cavs' coaching staff are serious about giving Cunningham (or anyone else for that matter) the final roster spot, experimentation with at least the second unit in a competitive match-up would provide a nice insight into what sort of output he can provide under the circumstances of a regular season game when his number is called.

I suppose the argument can be made that the 15th roster spot will be allocated to a perennial bench-warmer in another Joe Harris role, therefore rendering this process null and void. BUT, from what we've seen from Cunningham in preseason, he looks like he may actual be able to provide some meaningful minutes.

Will be very interesting to see what decision the coaching staff makes and why.
