Joe "Captain America" Harris

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think I remember hearing David Blatt had something to do with this pick.

Obviously not related to this thread but I have to say.

Chris Grant did a lot of things right. He was shrewd with his deals and landed several lop sided ones. Have to feel for the guy, Griff seems like a good guy but he was spoon-fed a juggernaut of a team.

Nailed it. The people making the decisions were handed an outline that was put into motion a long time ago...

Thanks for that info. I still think Griff gets some credit for sticking to the plan in regards to Harris as it's hard to imagine that Gilbert would have not let him go in another direction for the second round pick, but certainly Grant and the scouting department deserve much credit if they were the ones on Harris from the beginning and pushing him to the top of the conversation for the second round pick.

More than anything about Griffin or Grant, I'm just excited we took him as he may not have been the sexy pick but is tailor made for an important role in a team full of stars.

Kid kind of reminds me of JJ Redick.

It makes me wonder (1) what other guys Grant valued and (2) what guys who are still in college would Grant take in the upcoming draft or two. I'm suspecting that we will be seeing more Harris/Dell - type players who fit around superstars very well and, as Popovich put it, "are over themselves." It also makes me wonder what else Grant had specifically laid out for this year and beyond.

If you look under chris grants shirt you see a carefully constructed plan for a dynasty like this

It includes trading for a unprotected 2026 draft pick to draft Lebron James jr

I think it is time to stop calling Harris a role player

Serious question Max, what was/is the plan for Center? Seems like CG had to have a backup plan to Bynum/Zeller.
