I might be generalizing a bit but he spoke of giving Nance some things to work on..I would say he is going to treat the young players like they're still in school.
Which might not be a bad thing.
They need to tweek their games to get better.

Yeah so long as he doesn't treat Love that way, it could work. I have to admit that the guys that are leftover seem to be ones that are willing to work. I can't wait to see what he can do with them. Curious if he can get through to Clarkson.

Most of what he said implied that he wants to really encourage them to work together for common goals, and get them to want to contribute to commons success. I think the young guys will all buy in Collin, Cedi, Nance Zizic will all buy that. It will be hard for the draft pick, whoever he may be, to go against that grain.

What are you talking about? Get to Clarkson? Clarkson was told he has to shoot last year.

Clarkson is who he is. He can play much the same way, but not force shots that aren't there and he could move the ball more. I imagine it doesn't matter much now as he is an expiring and will likely be gone by the deadline, but on a rebuilding team, you need your bench to bring certain guys along slowly. I think they will likely keep Delly, and he will run the 2nd unit and bring some young guys along like whoever we nab at 26. As long as Clarkson is playing Jordan ball, that isn't helping any young guy develop. We saw what it did to Collin last year.

Jordan would be a better player if he could just dump it to the roll man once in awhile.

I will give JC some credit last season. I thought as a player he actually grew at the end of the year vs the beginning. He will always be what he is - a talented scorer- but I thought his feel for the game improved as the season went along.

He was someone I screamed at more than anyone for his poor shot selection even when they went in. Maybe with Love around though, he was able to move the basketball with a sense it would come back? I am off the mindset of you not giving up assets unless you get better one's. Maybe Beilein can help unlock all the talent this guy has and make him see how much better he could be. I wouldn't bank on it.

It's a pipe dream at this point getting him to play in system. It's a shame. I think Jordan is a good guy and his teammates like him a lot. He would be deadlier if he could pass the rock

It does matter. I agree we need to play developmental guys, but we don't have any. THEY BETTER KEEP DELLY. Clarkson isn't there to help develop. Clarkson is never in PR.

This is why it is so important to get coaches who are willing to build winning habits in young players games, whether it contributes to actually winning right away or not.

Look at a guy like JR, most of his career was wasted due to his bad chucker and lazy habits, sure he put up some numbers occasionally but that never contributed to winning ball. It wasn't until he was in a situation here with LeBron where you have to play winning ball that he actually played an important role. If you build these good habits early, you maximise career output and value and it trickles down to the rest of the team.

I look at henson. Clarkson. Tt and JR
All moved either this summer or by the deadline. All have nice expirings and other than JR all can still play a role ona contender. Delly in the same boat
Should get good amount of assets back

Koby hits on some picks it could be a quicker rebuild then we think

I want to keep Delly. Underrated leader. Let him expire, re-sign at a lower number

I think my dream scenario is the Hawks falling in love with someone like Culver and want to trade for #5. We are able to pull off #5, two 2nd rounders for #8, #10, and our pick back. If we can pull off a pick in the teens for JRs contract, I don't think the organization looks back at that point. I think Koby and Dan let the team be as good as it can be and use Clarkson, Knight, TT, and Henson to get more picks or young players.

As much as player-leaders like Delly are needed, I'm really glad we're finally going to have some real coaches as well. I think the little cliques we saw last season, freezing out of Sexton, etc., happened because players were setting the rules instead of the coaches. Beilein won't tolerate than kind of shit for a minute, and I think that will actually help extend the positive leadership from guys like Delly.

....Gilbert retreated to what he knows best and surprised everyone with John Beilein. That doesn’t make this a good or bad hire, it’s just the reality. Only this time, he may have found some of the same qualities he loved about David Blatt without the cultural obstacles that doomed him.

“I think at this point in his life, he’s been one of America’s best coaches and great teachers and has a system that will play, should play very well in the NBA,” Jerry West told The Athletic’s Joe Vardon last week. West has known Beilein for years given their ties to West Virginia. “Moving the ball, passing, emphasizing a lot of cutting — a thinking kind of an offense, where I think you would hope to eliminate a lot of the one-on-one play, make it more of a team kind of concept. Where people touch the ball more.”

Sound familiar? A lot of that is what Gilbert loved about Blatt.

It isn’t a perfect correlation, of course. The Cavs liked Blatt for his system and his European principles on ball movement and spacing. They chose Beilein primarily because of his ability to develop young talent. An informal poll of rival scouts and executives across the league all agreed Beilein is a much better coach than Blatt.

Jason Lloyd is the worst.

"Cultural obstacles" didn't "doom" David Blatt. Jason loves to play dumb like he doesn't know Blatt was fired strictly and solely to appease lebron. Nothing more, nothing less. But hey, I guess he is suppose to keep the narrative going that Blatt was a problem, by all means necessary to make lebron look good and grind that ax that he had against Blatt.

I'm not sure what Jasons problem is, maybe he is just a lebron guy.. maybe Blatt didn't back down and kiss Jasons feet when Jason tried one of his media power plays and Blatt played it very well and Jason fell flat with his attempt.. maybe its a combination of both.. but I really couldn't care less what jason has to say. His opinion is dirt under my rug.

Blatt's blatant misuse of Kevin Love seems to be dirt under your rug as well.
