Like I said in the other thread that talked about him, I was surprised he was even kicking around. I thought Milwaukee liked him a lot.

??? Joey Graham is a 6'6" SF, Leuer is a 6'11" PF/C...how are they even comparable?

Joey graham was a free agent acquisition whose guaranteed salary eventually led to Danny green being cut. who then proceded to fall on his face. i wasnt comparing the two players. only the results.

Ok seriously though I like this signing. If he can put on a lot of weight and muscle to go along with his shooting touch, watch out.

Wow. A Brad Lohaus comp. Blast from the past.

He was the other half with Theodore "Blue" Edwards for the Bucks on the original NBA Jam.

I remember going through a very awkward growth spurt in high school -I was all skin and bones with a toehead- when NBA Jam came out. I broke out some Sharpie markers and turned a wife beater into a Brad Lohaus jersey and hit the blacktop. Wow, was that dorky.

Glad we had the allure to lure Leuer. Ok seriously though I like this signing.

Nice wordplay, but technically, the Cavs claimed him off waivers. That means there was no new signing. It means that the Cavs grabbed his existing contract. Leuer has no choice but to report to the Cavs training camp because the Cavs own his contract now. It's not like he has any say in the matter.

Don't get why people think guys like Sammy Sam, Jones, Gody, and Eric would make the roster over Leuer. Cavs need a big that can shoot, and Leuer fits the bill. The fact he can conceivably play both PF and C gives him a leg up. Plus, we already have two defensive minded bigs in TT and AV. Leuer has the ability to space the floor, and with Tawn gone the Cavs need a big who can shoot the 3.

Leuer reminds me of Matt Bonner when Bonner was in Toronto or Ryan Anderson in his first two years in Orlando. Leuer is stuck between a player too slow to defend some SFs and too weak to bang with some PFs, but in a year or two his strength should allow him to be a true perimeter power forward with some ability to help out defending the post. I don't know if I want him playing 30+ minutes a game, but he can help a team out in a rotation.

I like the pick up. He was on a team with Gooden and Illyasova though, not sure they need another jump shooting forward.
