So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is good for those who want him off the team.

Rich will not want him competing for minutes against Sexton, Garland, Knight, Delly, Porter and even Windler in JCs contract year.

He’ll help grease the wheels on a buyout/stretch or a trade
No stretch. He will have some value at the deadline

He could. He could also sulk if he’s not getting the minutes he wants.

Could play it either way but if stretching Clarkson now allows you to use JR to get a future 1st and have the bad contract that comes with it not push you into the tax, then it’s worth it.

You’d still have Knight, TT, and Henson as expirings with some potential market from contenders near the deadline. Or from teams prepping for 2020 FA

Never stretch. That never works out well long term. Just wait it out.

I think Rich Paul will get in the ears of contenders without much flexibility in cap space and try to get Koby to trade Clarkson and TT to places where Rich Paul can leverage them into large contracts. He wants those bird right intact.

Rich Paul won't want his client to get stretched. Clarkson is no more than a MLE guy if a team doesn't have his bird rights. I'm not sure if TT could get the MLE on the open market.

Next year's FA class is weak. AD and Draymond are about it for the big name players. Maybe there will be a team trying to get out from under the tax but don't foresee a bunch of teams getting under the cap for 2020 free agency.
With that said maybe the Lakers will have interest in JC if they strike out in FA next week. I definitely wouldn't stretch him though. He's a productive bench scorer. Some team out there will be interested in him by the deadline..

I can't see LeBron approving JC to the Lakers. More likely they take on TT if they can come up with an asset that is worth it to the Cavs.
