Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
See I hear differently. He, from what I see, does not get much criticism. The guy was a #1 pick and, while his stats are good, has not brought his team to the place they expected. Just don't think he is the leader that a Luck, or Wilson is. At #1, I expect you to change the face of a franchise... not make them un-suck and partially relevant.

Sam Bradford is 10x more overrated, in my opinion... for what it is worth.

Sam Bradford hasn't been overrated at all. Maybe overhyped coming into the league, but he hasn't gotten that much praise at all for his NFL play up until this current season. He looked like he had finally figured it out and was going to have a breakout season before he got hurt. Which, to be fair, is his biggest issue.

Middle of the pack in completion. Averages over 1INT per game. One of the smallest YPA in the NFL. They are WCO now, but first two seasons they were not. I don't know, I think people perceive him as worthy of his pick and price and I don't see it.

All that is true, he has been middle of the pack. Thing is, to be overrated you have to have people that actually call him good/elite. I can't think of a single person who thinks he is a top QB in the league. Most seem to acknowledge that he's been very average.

I know it would never happen, but can you imagine a world where Josh Gordon and Megatron are lining up on the same team? That would be gross. Why don't they just go get AJ Green and Julio Jones too?

No but I am imagining and hoping for a world where Josh Gordon and Mike Evans are lining up on the same.

I'm hoping for a world where I don't see trade rumors involving Josh Gordon

I think it'll happen. If they liked Jordan Camrron why wouldn't they be high on mike Evans?

Because they're nothing alike, and this comparison makes absolutely no sense.

They're nothing alike, the comparison makes no sense, and the people who drafted Cameron are long gone.

:chuckles: I don't even remotely know what that was all about.

Obligatory:

Don't they both have basketball backgrounds or am i thinking of someone else? Neither are the fastest, but they are both big targets with sure hands. Eventually mike may have to switch to tight end. I think the comparison is spot on.

I looked it up.

Jordan Cameron - 6 foot 5. 40 yard dash 4.53. Played basketball at brigham.

Mike Evans - 6 foot 5. 40 yard dash 4.54. high school basketball star. He's about 25 pounds lighter than cameron, but Mike is going to fill out his huge frame, and will likely be in the 240's in his prime.

“The landmark game was a 279-yard day against No. 1-ranked Alabama,” Goodbread said. “As good as Evans has been, one scout told College Football 24/7 that he may project better as a flex tight end in the NFL than as a receiver, which would allow him to more easily beat safeties and linebackers in coverage than pro cornerbacks.”

Hmmm.. who's a flex tight end? Would that be jordan cameron..

Can't wait to take a backup tight end?...

Yeah, no.

Incredibly, Matthew Stafford is 1-22 in his career against teams that finished the season with winning records. Of the Lions' remaining opponents, only the 7-6 Ravens have a winning record.

Now, as far as Josh Gordon goes.. from the same link:

Josh Gordon leads the league in receiving yards (1,400) and yards per reception (19.7). He could become the first player since Torry Holt in 2000 with the St. Louis Rams to finish the season first in both categories.

Mike Evans is a starting wide receiver in the nfl on his rookie contract and the best in the draft. He's more talented than Cameron and Cameron is nothing to sneeze at. What's not to like about Evans?
