JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh, my bad. I thought you were implying he showed poise without having experienced the playoffs.

I might or might not be partying after this win and not being completely clear with my posts. It was a fair post you made lol.

5 assists, 4 boards, 4 steals, and just one turnover in 36 minutes tonight, +11 when on the court, held Thompson to 13 points on 13 shots. Textbook example of how you contribute without scoring.

I'm gonna mess up your notifications because I'm going to undo rating this and like it 5 times.

I was pissed as hell when I saw that JR Smith was to be included in the Waiters trade.

He has proven me wrong and then some. Almost no attitude flare ups. He knows and is accepting his role. Seems to gel well with the rest of the club, especially LeBron and Shumpert. Playing surprising defense.

Glad to admit I was wrong on this one.

I seriously can't believe it. So amazing. Good f or you JR

All we heard when we traded for this guy is:

1.) Laughing
2.) He's a headcase
3.) He's a chucker

Well, we just saw him tonight COMPLETELY sacrifice his offensive game tonight in order to concentrate on Klay.

We even saw him pass up a couple of wide open looks from downtown to keep the ball moving.

Smith has been an absolute blessing in disguise for this team.

I came in here to say the same thing. This in not the same JR Smith we've seen the last couple of years. I think we need to start giving Blatt some credit for this part of the equation. That quote of his about JR being a rebel, and how you work with a rebel, was one of the coolest things I've seen a coach say in a long time.

Blatt: "J.R has been a dream to coach"

What a breathe of fresh air JR has been!

Extremely solid defensively, great attitude, keeping the ball moving and hit big shots when asked upon. Everything that was said about him being bad at, he has been the best at it in Cleveland.

Saw this in Lloyd's final thoughts and loved it:

30. “We really don’t want to send a message to anybody, we just want to keep impressing ourselves,” Smith said. “I’m sure the rest of the league is looking at it like, ‘Oh my God they just beat arguably the best team in the league.’ But we feel as though we’re the best team.

There's a really nice coach - player relationship going on with Blatt and Jr. I really happy with it. The way Blatt talks to media about Jr, the way Jr understands and executes his roles... I mean it's such a nice thing when you consider he was THE 'Throw in' at Shumpert deal, 'Headache', 'Chucker' etc. Sooo good to have him.

I thought we would be getting a side-grade to Dion at the cost of a slightly more expensive contract but getting shipment as well. JR has exceeded anything I thought we would realistically be getting, he's a bit of a chucker but he demands a cover, and he's just crazy enough. Dion said all the right things but just never seemed happy, JR knows his role and does it well. Some nights he's on and he puts up 8 treys and plays 35 minutes and other nights he's playing close to 20 and getting a shot or 2. He doesn't need "his" shots and seems content with that. His defense has been a surprise, and he comes up with a heads up steal or 2, which probably translates to 2-3 points on the differential each time. Also, I was surprised that he can still dunk. The 360 almost oop and the 2 alley oops against the Knicks were some of the most athletic plays I've seen this year. The guys totally just playing the right way, essentially what we were wanting out of Dion, but just not getting.

Actually, it's also the way Love has been playing, he's really asked to sit on the outside the majority of the time and play the spacing game, he's never whined about that, goes in and tries to grab the rebound from a less desirable position, and just keeps playing. He's not going to score as much this way or get as many inside opportunities, but what it opens up for the offense is even more valuable. He's not a great defender but he's putting in the effort, and sure he gets burned occasionally but overall, the results are showing themselves

No Kyrie, no Bron. You've been given the green light bud, let them fly.
