JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Are we going to be able to keep him? He has been nothing short of amazing for us.

There are two J.R.'s - the good crazy, and the bad crazy. We have the good crazy.

Seems to me he is the exact kind of player you keep -- more valuable/useful to us than to other teams, because we know the kind of player he is for us, and other teams can't be sure of which J.R. they'll get.

Allie is adorable. Turning down an interview with her would be like not petting a three week old Retriever puppy.

I agree, but she's also just a good sideline reporter. Doesn't come across as dingy, understands the game, and doesn't ask stupid questions.

She is. And she takes shit in stride.

Reminds me of the girls I've known who grew up with a bunch of brothers. Nothing's shocking to them, easy-going and none of that catty valley girl bullshit.

Like as hot as Erin Andrews is, she seems like she'd be really cunty one on one.

Allie kinda reminds me of a far cuter Suzy Kolber.

What's cool about Allie is that she takes it in stride when they flirt with her. TT has and I swear Dion did, I think on 1 interview with him I heard a faint, "sup, girl..."

No girl can resist Dion's "ayye"

Quick rookie Q - Does anyone has anything against Chris Parker?

Parker is always there, seems to ask intelligent Q's at pressers and interviews, and seems to not rub Cavaliers personnel the wrong way. So I've actually read something of his. He has his own take, above-tabloid material and some interesting statistics sprinkled throughout. While it's nothing too fancy, there are a few insights about on-court play (!!) and I'd take his work over the Fedors and Vardons of the world.
That said, I've yet to see links to his stuff. Am I missing something?

I don't know which thread this belongs, but here is a connection to this thread.

Totally unrelated to the previous post, this puts a number on my feelings for JR.
Nothing new, but it's a big "Thank you" headed Griffin's way.

No, Chris, I don't think anyone here has anything against you.

LeBron Trusts J.R. Smith Despite Troublesome Past
Posted By: Tomer AzarlyPosted date: March 27, 2015In: Cavs, Editorials
A lot of fans knew who J.R. Smith was when the Cavs acquired him in January. A streaky shooter with the ability to shoot off of a catch or dribble and defend the ball incredibly well, Smith’s talents were never in question. His dedication, seriousness, and ferocity on the court this season with the Knicks are what led Cavs’ fans to believe that Smith is not the guy they needed to win a championship.

Fast forward to the middle of March, where fans around the world don’t think the Cavs can even survive without Smith in the lineup.

Ethan Skolnick of Bleacher Report spoke out about why he thinkgs it’s been so easy for LeBron to trust J.R. Smith so easily despite his troublesome past:

“It’s been very very easy. And I think one of the reasons LeBron trusts J.R. so much is that they had worked out in previous summers and LeBron feels like he understands J.R. better than a lot of other people do around the league.”

That understanding of one another’s game has led to incredible success for the Cavs since acquiring Smith in January.

William Perlman | NJ Advance Media

“LeBron James wanted those trades that were made earlier in the season,” says Skolnick. “Dion Waiters never really embraced being a catch-and-shoot guy. LeBron always feels like he plays better when he plays with guys who are comfortable filling that role. The’s the role that J.R. Smith has filled best over the course of his career.

“When the Cavaliers traded for those three players: Mozgov, Shumpert, and J.R. over the course of those two trades, J.R. was the afterthought, a piece that they had to take. They weren’t even sure they were going to keep him. They might have just waived him, but when he came to Cleveland’s facility, he bought into everything said. He wanted to be there. Once they got that assurance and LeBron got that assurance, it was pretty much all systems go from there.”

It’s clear that J.R. wasn’t a part of the big picture when he first arrived, but his game as helped open the floor up for the Cavs so much while also playing solid and consistent defense, he’s become an almost irreplaceable piece to their puzzle.

The irony is, that no one, absolutely no one, could have predicted last summer that the team would trade for someone like Shumpert, get someone dumped on them for salary purposes who they then considered BUYING OUT/RELEASED, who then became a vital cog to the team.

Oh, and that Denver would trade the Cavs their starting center.

So though we figured the team would be good, the way it ended up happening (this team was so painful to watch for the first 40 games) turned out to be crazy.
