JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I stepped through the video frame by frame, it wasn't closed.

I don't know. They just showed it in slo mo on TNT. Looked closed.

Either way, he's done for a little while.

Looking at the replay, it was actually unlucky.

The knee injury caused him to fall back, lowering his head in relation to Smith's arm and creating enough space between the two guys for it to become a shot to the face.

If Crowder remains right behind him and doesn't hurt his knee, JR's arm probably hits him in his shoulder and it's a non starter.

Should he have done it? Absolutely not but it was a dumb decision made worse because he got hurt. If Crowder stays on his feet, JR may still get tossed but he's not facing a suspension.

Of course he knew he was there the guy had both hands on his back restricting his movement.

I agree with Gottlieb call the foul and the players dont take matters into their own hands. on the otherde the refs called 50 fouls in this game

Chuck says 10 games. Kenny says 5. Shaq says 5. Either way, the replays are not going to help.

I absolutely loved seeing JR knock the shit out of Crowder. But c'mon dude. JR knew what he was doing. The intent was incredibly clear on his part. The surprising part is just how well he connected despite not looking. He is probably looking at being suspended 2-3 games. Especially being a repeat offender in the fine department over the years.

it's doubtful he expected to hit him with his hand, I think he was just trying to hit him with his upper arm, which wasn't moving nearly as fast. Given his past history, it's unlikely the league gives him the benefit of the doubt.

Anyone know if the suspension lengths have changed since Silver took over. Whiteside only got 1 game for throwing an elbow in the back of a players head.

What hurts is having Smith and Love potentially out at the same time. LeBron is capable of covering for one of them being out. It certainly would be nice of the Bucks could win a couple more games to move the start of the second round back a couple of days.

Looking at the replay. It is definitely worse than first looks. It wouldn't surprise me if it's 5+ games. Probably minimum of 3 but probable more.

You'd heck to be a grade A moron to think a guy with smiths history didn't know what he was doing. Why would someone be swinging the handed UFC style 6'6 ft in the air

It's going to be around 3-5. Anymore would be a little much considering Artest got like 7 got elbowing Harden, and that was definitely worse than Smith's swing. Either way, it happened. So will have to ride it out. I still think we will be fine. I have a good feeling about Love. JR is screwed though.

Smiths' punch is just the kind of thug move the NBA likes to stomp down hard.

Cavs will be lucky with anything less than 3 games.

It's such a shame that JR reverted back to this after the season he had. He lost his cool in game 1, but Blatt jumped in before things got out of hand. After game 3, thought he'd finally turned a corner. Then this happens. What's that saying about zebras not being able to change their stripes?

I hope you're right. I think JR is much more replaceable for us than Love. We've wanted to see how Shump would do in the starting lineup and he's been playing well consistently now. Unfortunate that this happened, but it is what it is. This hurts our depth off the bench a bit, but isn't a huge blow.

This is such a backwards post. The knee injury happened as a result of the punch. I recommend getting your eyes checked if you think it was the other way around.

I couldn't believe he did that. Throw a elbow to the rib, lay him out when he's running up the floor. Tons of ways to catch him, he does some wild ufc shit and lands it perfectly

Shocked if he's not gone a few games. Totally expect to hear a story this summer about JR getting viciously stomped out in MIA or some shit and it will be well deserved :chuckle:

I have a feeling with all the rest that Mike Miller is ready to contribute...honestly he can do a decent job on Dunleavy and I feel he loves the moment
