So long, Kay Felder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is the kind of player though where you need to get him playing time to maximize his chances of thriving. I think that might be difficult for our team to do.

Seems to be the case for EVERY player we come into contact with who isn't an established star. If we ever want to be an organization that, you know, develops an actual player we need to give the process a chance.

from Griffs words sounds like this guy is expected to make the roster
We are excited to welcome Kay Felder to the Cavs’ family,” said Griffin. “Kay is a dynamic playmaker, and most importantly, the type of person and competitor that we want to add to our locker room.”

I dont think they waste Gilbert's money here unless they think highly of him.

Makes you wonder how the fuck the Spurs do it and still contend for championships year in and year out :chuckle:

I am 6'5 and I feel short around some NBA Players...

Spurs are amazing and a model of winning consistency but they also have won just 1 title in the past 9 seasons and haven't made it out of the second round 5 of the last 8 years.

Everybody has been talking about Felder being insurance for Delly's potentially big price tag, and maybe that's the case, but I sure wouldn't mind him replacing Mo as the offensive dynamo to Delly's defensive wonder in our backup rotation. Mo's body broke down so much this year and I don't think the injuries were anything that could be fixed with an offseason surgery. Winning the ring this year should smooth over any hard feelings as well.
I wish we could have him to replace Mo too, but Mo is under contract for another year and wants to stay I'm sure. So we would have to trade Mo.

You need spark plugs in life, this guy has every tool to be one. Isiah was once doubted too, he persevered. We'll never ask this guy to play 35 minutes unless injury, but if you tell me he is capable of scoring 8 points and dish 4 assists in 16 minutes then that's a spark off the bench indeed.

I'm rooting for him, I love the underdog and he's definitely one.

5'9 doesn't look bad when you have a 6'3 wingspan with a 44 inch vertical which is higher than Vince Carter.

He only makes 2.1 million, so you can probably dump him somewhat easily as teams look to get to the cap. You could always just waive him as well.

Either way, it would be nice to have a backup that isn't hurt for half of the year, and now that our guys have learned how to win a title I'm not sure I see the need for so many vets on our bench. Get Mo and Sasha out of here and bring in some hungry youth to develop with those roster spots.

I would keep Mo as he could be a mentor to the young guards. Kaun yeah he has no real reason to be here.

I mean Isiah is currently the best scorer on the Celtics right now as a 5’9” player, and Felder’s game has the potential to be more well rounded and dynamic than Thomas’s.

Right? But don't you know we can't be optimistic with this pick? Even though his stats, metrics, and game are great and point to the direction where he can have a good career in the league.

Gotta let go of the past where we got too cute with picks. Have faith in the Griff.

2 championships and 3 finals appearances in a ten year span is something just about every franchise would sign up for.

Bigger than IT...more athletic too...

Height doesn't matter...length, athleticism, skill, and smarts do. This kid is good, he can play...one of the only guys I saw in this draft play, and I had to watch him multiple times cause he was so fun to watch...Summer League games are must watches for me now...
I compared their measurements. Kay had a slightly larger wingspan, but Thomas had a couple inches on him at standing reach. Kay was like a .50 inches shorter in bare feet but had 4 inches on Thomas in vertical leap.

Absolutely they are fantastic but from the way the are sometimes spoken about you would think they'd have won 3-4 titles in the last 8-10 years.

Also, we have 3 finals appearances in the last 10 years as well. Not bad.
