So long, Kay Felder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Felder still doesn’t look any better up in the NBA after a successful stint in the D-League, even playing garbage time minutes against other bench scrubs.

I never thought the d-league was going to help him. He needed to overcome the NBA's length, height, and adjust to the speed of the game. This is why I was annoyed with the way Lue approached the game last night. I thought the two priorities would be to have Deron Williams built chemistry with the players he would rotate in with and to give Felder game time. Instead Felder got the lowest minutes out of anyone and Deron Williams was giving up the ball to Shump and JR to run the point.

Exactly, it's bad to send some players to D league over and over again. I said "some" players because if someone is too good for Dleague, there is no reason to send him there. It was good to sent Bennett because he was even bad when he played in the Canton, but Felder is just too good to play there. 30+ points per game, come on. He should learn NBA speed and physicality not playing against scrubs and score 30+ per game.

Bennett never played a minute for Canton

Too bad Felder got hurt tonight, Cavs actually had two effective PGs in the same game for once. In his brief time, he played smart on both ends, got the ball to open 3-point shooters, and didn't take any stupid shots.

Wanted to mention that in case we don't see him again this year...

I liked how he pushed the pace and the rest of the players followed suit. Hopefully they can get him practicing with NBA talent and shot blocker over the summer so he can learn how to finish around the rim in the NBA.

Was excited to see him play again, too bad he got hurt... we'll never see him in the playoffs unless something very bad happens...

Hopefully he can work on finishing skills and medium range jumpshots in the offseason... he can really penerate well but he always end up shooting acrobatic layups because of his size... defense would always be a challenge for him...

He seems to be a good kid looking from afar... can't help but root for an underdog like him...

Sucks to say that, if he was 6 foot 4 he would have been drafted in the lottery and would probably be in the rotations dude has to much skill, but he is so short.

If he was 6'4" he would be Westbrook lite or mvp DRose lite... Kay is an athlethic freak with skills and work ethic... its just his size is very difficult to overcome in the NBA level... people like IT who made things work in spite of being small is pretty rare

I can fault Gilbert for his meddling in signing this guy. Probably some Napoleon complex shit happening there, Gilbert wanting to see another short guy who can play at the NBA level on his roster.

Most important thing for Kay at this point is to become an excellent shooter.

That and have a consistent floater... he could penerate well but frequently gets blocked or end up doing acrobatic shots inside... his playmaking/passing is good for a rookie, its too bad they tried to make him a spot up shooter when he was in the game... I still expect him to struggle if he makes the team, if ever he comes out of his shell its going to be in his 3rd year at the least...

Here's hoping he can beat Calderon for the back up spot.

Be careful being too positive around these parts.

It might break up the constant flow of bitchyness that otherwise fills the pages of this place.
