Kevin Durant

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Eh, I dunno. It's getting close, especially with LeBron taking the season off on defense so far.

Durant is one of my top 3 favorite players. But he doesn't have the passing ability, the defensive ability or the rebounding ability that Lebron has proven he can do. I don't see those parts as being close.

But Durant and Lebron also have different styles of play.

He is closer to LeBron now than people realize... It's just a hard concept for most to grasp, especially because of the amount of success LeBron has had in the playoffs the last few years.

The 2 of them are in another stratosphere compared to the rest of the league.

Assuming both teams are fully healthy come playoff time (a big if considering Westbrook/Wade), both teams have to be considered favorites to meet in the finals. If it does happen, I expect a much more entertaining series than the last one...

What's your reasoning behind this? If it's because you don't trust Westbrook's health at this point, that's a reasonable argument. Otherwise, I have a hard time seeing Durant leaving OKC. The only real reason he could have would be to be under a bigger spotlight, and I don't see Durant being that kind of player, especially considering that it is extremely unlikely he has a chance to join a roster with a more promising future than OKC's.

My reasoning is based on the team that can pull it all together. I don't think going to the finals and losing will sit with him much longer. He is a winner, and wants to win. He focuses on weaknesses every off-season and attempts to correct them. Eventually it will have to dawn on him that the team is the weak link, and I see him going to a place with a better situation. Westbrooks health is a concern, as they need him to fire on all cylinders. I also see him willing to take less to make that happen. Which of course could lead to that piece being added in OKC, I just don't see it.

Kevin Durant has been the league's MVP to this point this season...

I just don't see Westbrook holding up, and with his mentality, always taking the offseason to improve an aspect of his game, he will eventually realize the team as constructed has hit a wall. Whether he stays or goes is dependent on the team that is around him. He won't be happy going to the finals and losing continuously. They have a good GM, so it seems like they will attempt to improve the squad, I just think he wakes up and realizes it might be better with a new cast.

he hit a shot 1 on 3 tonight to win the game. I wonder if thunder fans are complaining about hero ball?

In this thread: KI4MVP subtly comparing Kyrie to Kevin Durant.

Trending down... DO NOT WANT!

Durant is phenomenal. He has the best pure shot in the league. Nowhere on the court is out of his range.

Best feature of Durant? He may be the most humble and down to earth superstar in the league. He has values and seems like a loyal guy. He seems like a guy that doesn't want to leave his team to go ring chasing. I think he stays. He wants to build a winner, not join one.

If that is a dig at Lebron that's not fair and i am not a lebron fan

The thunder are a fantastically run organisation and they have one of the best GM's in the league (despite the Harden trade)
Durant has had a great cast put around him. His number 2 is westbrook who at best is a top 10 player in this league, and Ibaka isn't a bad option as well. At one point he played with james harden who is a stud before he was traded.

Lebron whilst at the Cavs never played with a player as good as Westbrook or Harden. You can say Shaq but Shaq was past his prime and rofl at Mo Williams or Jamison.

Durant seems like a kool guy but if he were playing with the cavs and had the team that Lebron had around him, he would bolt as soon as he is a free agent as well. I don't think people realise how bad the supporting cast around lebron was. When ever lebron played bad, nobody could step up like Westbrook does for OKC very often.

I think KD might end up being a pretty good player. We should trade Waiters and AV for him plus a future OKC first.

He's a better scorer. But he still has a long way to go to be even considered in the same league as Lebron in the other aspects of the game.

The dude became a better rebounder, playmaker and is playing great defense.

I am not sure what else he needs to be "in the same league as LeBron". He is definitely in the same league, and pretty close as well.
