Could Griffin just be saying this to temper expectations? Maybe. I'll still wait to hear from what Love says. But I mean it is pretty clear he is unlikely to play.

To those who still think they can win the Finals, all the power to you. This team can still win the East, I am confident of that. Like, very confident. I do think it'd be a damn tough fight vs. all remaining teams, but I think they can win it.

Without Love? Not sure how they can beat any of the top West teams. Hope I am wrong.

It's hard to disagree with that. The team needs to adopt the no excuses philosophy, but as a fan I do not have that obligation - if we don't win a title this season it's because of Kelly fucking Olynyk. That just makes me sick.

I mean, just making the Finals in year one after losing our third option to injury would be pretty impressive. We probably won't win, sure, but if we win the East I'll consider it a job well done for LeBron, Kyrie, and everyone else. It just sucks that Love had to be lost for (probably) the season during his first playoff series. He must feel devastated.

@HowardBeck

Source: Kevin Love's labrum tore away from the bone, and will need 4-6 weeks, minimum, to heal. If it doesn't, surgery a possibility.

To be clear, source adds: There's virtually zero chance Love plays again this postseason, even if Cavs make the Finals.

:puke:

No surprise. I expected he would be out the rest of the playoffs after hearing the extent of the injury.

What a bummer though. Without him, I don't think we stand against Golden State or San Antonio (and that's assuming we even make it to the Finals). Love's impact can't be understated.

This REALLY hurts. But if Tristan, J.R., and Iman want to cash in, now's the time to do it. There are line-ups that the Cavs can still utilize. We still have plenty of talent and flexibility. Blatt and Co. just have to be creative.

Welp, that sucks.

I still think the East is ours for the taking. If the Bucks win the next one at home, Chicago will be holding on for dear life. Rose will definitely log a ton of minutes in a game 7 situation. With the way Shumpert defended on Sunday, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Rose struggles against us. I am almost more worried about the Pau matchup more than the Butler & Rose matchup, considering he could get our bigs into foul trouble. However, with the way the Boston series ended, i expect this team to play with an edge. T-Mo will not be afraid to put Rose on his ass when he is trying to penetrate.

As far as Atlanta goes, I fear them less than Chicago. We have the great equalizer in LBJ and even without Love, this is still the best team the Cav's have surrounded LBJ with.

As for The Finals, if the Spurs came out of the West, i expected a loss, regardless. The thing i am MOST pissed about is that Love's playoff experience getting cut short. However, we still have a long way to go. Other teams may be dealt with injuries, especially considering how physical some of these series are getting....Glass half-full thinking :conf (8):

This isn't really surprising to me. If any return was going to happen, I figured it wouldn't happen until at least the Finals, if at all (IF we made it there).

Yes, this team can win the East. Tristan, for as much shit as I give him, is a damn good backup and has held a starting spot at that position for multiple seasons. The pick and roll with Thompson has been lethal and leads to endless alley oops. Let's not forget that LeBron and Thompson have logged a great deal of minutes together this year as Thompson closed out the majority of our 4th quarters.

Minutes will go up for Thompson/Mozgov and Marion will likely have to log some time.

Without Love, we are impeded. But we still have the best two players on the floor in any given Eastern Conference series from here on out.

LeBron carried us to the ECF before and that was without the luxury of a Kyrie Irving or Timofey Mozgov patrolling the paint. Hell, he carried us to the Finals!

We have a ton of talent here and would be surprised if we don't make a run.

The guy makes sacrifices and gets criticized the whole year and when he finally has the chance of doing what he came here to do and play deep into the playoffs here comes Kelly fucking Olynyk to throw it all away. Fuck you, Kelly.

Anyway, still think we will get to The Finals but once there... we'll see.

Wiggins wouldn't have choked for a whole regular season. Wiggins wouldn't have gotten hurt. Wiggins wouldn't average less than 18ppg. Wiggins wouldn't be a red carpet on defense.

At the risk of feeding the troll, I'll just suggest you get off your mom's laptop and go take a nap....:gtfo2:

Way into the future but even if Love could step out onto the court in the Finals. Like 10 minutes a game. The emotional lift would be huge.

But Bulls/Bucks is the focus now.
