I know people are talking about my "0% chance" statement. Let me explain (Though Stereo & Chris have done a pretty damn good job thus far) & maybe we can move on from it.

First, the 0% chance is, of course, as of now. Of course, there's always "that chance". But it'd take a heel turn to the tune of "Hollywood Hogan" for it to happen :chuckle:

But I don't see it straying too far at all from 0% anyway. And as Stereo said, if, by some tiny chance Love does leave, it'd go against every ounce of understanding between he & Cleveland. And with Woj & the national media reporting it, Love would look pretty damn bad.

Wow this thread has become a battlefield... We are 8 games into the season. The barometer I am using is 17 games, which is how long the Heat were mediocre for. That's admittedly a pretty arbitrary number, but I don't see why the urge to conclude anything at this point.

As a non-basketballer, my layman's point of view is that basketball is a game of rhythm. This was observed in a pickup game where we lost the first game 15-3, then won the second game 15-13, and I also cite the thousands of hours I have been half-watching basketball throughout my life... It can be the littlest of details - swinging the ball to a shooter at chest level, posting up 2 feet deeper on a re-post, etc., that create this rhythm. With new players, on offense and defense, it takes time.

Meanwhile, we are 5-3, and the best part is that we have seen flashes: quarters where we have scored over 30, big comebacks, wide open shots that were manufactured from good passing. That's what I am pleased about. It's just a matter of these cats getting used the new team and learning how to play as a unit. Obviously our defense is lagging, but let's not write off Love (or anyone else) just yet - if Mike Brown could hide some horrendous players on defense, I am sure Blatt will figure it out as well, in due time.

Dear Kevin Love. You are the worst defender in the NBA. Start hitting shots or :gtfo2: and stop boxing Andy out so you can pad yur rebounding stats.

Dear CSF, Your posts are the worst poster in RCF. Up your game or :gtfo2:.
Did you watch the game tonight? Every time Austin said "that was to easy" Kevin Love was the guy beat. This game has to be the worst defense I have ever seen from a 6-10" basketball player, including high school games.

Everybody knew Love was a poor defensive player, no matter how much some people tried to make excuses. That is why Lebron/Marion are here. Lebron was sick tonight and Blatt mishandled Marion/Harris situation coupled with Kyrie losing faith in himself after getting blown away by Lawson.

Love will never be a top 10 player in this game because of his terrible defense.

Man I swear LeBron was going to rip Love's head off a few times. Bron was friggen Pissed by the way Love just let anyone walk to the basket

Yes I'm serious. I would like to know why Minny was unwilling to sign their alpha dog to the max.
Don't worry, I got the answer after watching tonights game. 1 demsional players don't deserve max contracts.

Not sure how putting up double doubles every night is 1 dimensional? Plus he knows how to pass the ball.

^ Sorry, didn't mean to quote myself. My bad.

Wait, did we just call Kevin Love "1 dimensional"?

We know there's more dimensions to the game than just "offense" and "defense", right?

99% on rcf said he was a top 10 player before trading for him, in fact many said he was a top 5. Oops.

In Pat Shurmur voice, "here you could run it or you could throw it." And, "we made progress without winning, which means we didn't make progress. "

Love's post-game interview seemed to indicate a level of complacency was perhaps setting in within this team and played a contributing factor to tonight's loss.

"There was a sense out there that we could've burried those guys" - Kevin Love

Given Kyrie's "is this what the playoffs feel like?" and Blatt's "Well I guess we aren't going 82-0! [sarcasm]" combined with a number of other off-hand comments we've been hearing, I get the feeling that behind closed doors there's been a sense of 'NBA-domination' in the locker room, much like it has been within the fanbase, within the media and across the NBA.

And as a result, I'm starting to think that - in addition to the new coaching staff and new players looking to adjust to one another - this has played as much a part in our losses as anything else has this season. You can count the opening game against New York as a prime example, leading all the way to the games against Utah & todays game against the Nuggets.

This would go a long way in explaining why, under adversity, the team reverts back to ISO plays, forgetting the ball movement and not putting in on the defensive end. Against Boston, it paid off. Kyrie went God-mode and couldn't miss a basket and that trickled down to LeBron and crew. Today, nothing was falling. And as a result, this team is still not at that level where they fully understand how to come up against unlikely adversity against weaker opposition.
