^ That is what I was trying to say during the winning streak. Unless this team is shooting 50%+ , they have a real tough time winning games any other way. Our bigs are about useless.

That's just sad if you make Chris Bosh look like an all nba 1st team defender. Some of these plays like the Lawson one are really starting to alarm me.

Faried had 8 pts and 1 reb.. maybe the guards should keep their men in front of them a little better.. you guys want Love to protect the fucking rim and he has never done that... 20-11 on not nearly enough touches and great passing.. Andy and TT are way more of a factor of us losing then Love.. acting like Love isn't a max guy is asinine.. people act like Aldridge or Melo are superstars or Max guys.. Love is as good or better than either of them .. all of this is ridiculous IMO.. he hasn't been that bad and he isn't a shot blocker.. that is why we need 1 to go next to him

Just like any other stretch 4, just so happens our stretch 4 is looking to make the max.

is Aldridge a stretch 4?.. is Dirk a stretch 4?... no they are All-Stars..borderline superstars(HOF in Dirk's case) and neither are great defenders.. let's stop acting like Love is Channing Frye.. he avg 26-12 at age 25.. he has 20-11 tonight on 13 shots and drew a ton of fouls in the paint.. he needs to be used more IMO and should be fed until someone stops him... that wasn't the case tonight and is a reason the game got out of hand IMO .. he was getting hoops or to the foul line and like someone said we go down 3 scores and all of the sudden it's hero ball instead of run the offense and get Love touches against faried who he was abusing

I don't think any1 is expecting him to be like Bill Russell but at least give more effort at times. When your out of position at least try and contest a shot or use a foul its not rocket science. He hasn't used over 4 pfs in a game so far

Cavs and even Lebron aren't used to playing with a guy with a post game. Seems like they forgot about him in the post. One way to slow down a team who is hot is get them in foul trouble and force guys like Darrell Arthur to defend and get involved downlow. Guy was having his way and we didn't go back to the hot hand

That being said, we really need to get a rim protector to put next to him. Last year when Pekovic went down and they put Dieng in the lineup, Minnesota's defense got a lot better.

K-Love is fine. We just need an active rim protector. Andy and TT just won't cut it.
Then why are the Cavs willing to pay 20+ mill a season to a couple of guys that just don't cut it? Now that Cavs need another guy who will demand 10+ mill just to fill the voids AV and TT don't provide. Awesome 30+ mill a year for one position.

Were people just spoiled by the thought of Love on this team?

He's averaging 17 & 10 on 37% from deep and he's not even close to playing his best basketball. Not to mention, we're not even close to meshing completely together on a consistent basis.

We all knew he wasn't a good defender. But he is showing effort, something he was accused of having a lack of with Minnesota.

He's not a rim protector. Anyone who was expecting him to be was kidding themselves. Opponents know that & know they can go at him when he comes to help.

Kyrie & LeBron have the advantage of always having the ball in their hands, so they can always make something happen for themselves, and get their shots in if they have the hot hand.

Love doesn't have that luxury. We have to find it in our offense to keep feeding Love.

I think this team is as many here have said before me, two pieces away from being a true contender. Maybe some pieces should be moved in order to make this happen. It's still very early and things will definitely improve but the signs are obvious. I don't know how much better we can be on defence with the current players even when on full throtle. With all the talent offensively that LBJ,Love and Kyrie bring to the table, i think this team needs a defencive sg/pg combo that doesn't require the ball on offence and he can shoot the occasional 3's along with a good rim protector. Pg is by far the most stacked position in this nba era and Kyrie will struggle when he will have to guard score-first pgs (and there are alot of them). It would be nice if we could switch him on defence and let him guard the less dangerous opponent guard. A rim protector is the second major upgrade this team needs as none of our current bigs can do that.

Do we have the assets to trade for such players? Is there cap space for them? I don't know the asnwer on these questions, but this defence issue has to be solved somehow. If we account for Lbj as being a plus defender, we need another two good ones to counter balance for Love's,Kyrie's defenciencies on this end. And ofc more commitment on defence from all the players in the team.

Brah, do you have common sense or what? You ever heard of something called a "trade". Fuck outta here.

I'll admit that CSF has had some not so great posts and I'm sure some of you feel the same way about some of my posts. But I do understand somewhat where he is coming from. In the future we will be spending 20+ mil for a guy who is a defensive liability so more than likely we will have to pay for another big to compensate for Love's liability that could potentially cost 6+ mil a year and thereby alter our rotations. Most of you believe that the rest of his game trumps his inadequacies on the defensive end which is fine. But for those of you like myself who don't necessarily believe that, yes a player like Dwight Howard who is an anchor on defense and can finish around the rim would've been a better fit for this team, unfortunately he was not available so it is irrelevant.

I just don't understand what the front office is thinking. Clearly they want Love as part of the foundation going forward. Great Love is an awesome offensive minded PF, maybe the best. With that in mind, the Cavs now need a Ben Wallace type of Center.

Why sign AV for another year at 10 mill. Not like he was going to walk anyhow.

Why persue signing TT long term when he does nothing different from AV. Combine AV and TT and you still don't get a max type player.

Clearly TT needs to be moved for a Rim Protecting center, I see no other choice. Unless the Cavs are willing to pay a defensive minded center to start AND pay AV and TT to come off the bench.
