What i'm most worried about as far as Love goes is how he is missing the wide open 3s - Now i have not watched much of him but i heard he was pretty reliable in making them - I am not seeing that over here. This does not seem like a 'weight' / 'softness' issue. If he had made those open shots we win the game.

Kevin Love is not that good, far from the superstar billing he was given and arguably not even a star. I was at the game tonight and it was like every time he got near the ball that he could do nothing right. Whether being his inability tonight to box out on a free throw that led to a 3 pointer or him bricking 2 crucial free throws in the 4th quarter there is no other way to slice it, he sucked tonight. If it is his lower weight, the coach, the guards fault, whatever excuse this thread can come up with he needs to start playing consistently well. Even without LeBron this team should be able to win with Kyrie and Love. Until Love starts playing not even big in games but just efficiently I will continue to blame LeBron and mostly Dan Gilbert for this mess that we are in and continue to lament on the ridiculous Andrew Wiggins trade.

Love is way better than this and he knows it. He seems so hard on himself and it is getting to him. I think he is trying to hard on D and getting the results he does not want and it is bugging him. This is why Mozgov is such a huge pick up because he handle what Love and let Love get back to his game. When all is said and done Mozgov is going to be the one we look back at and say thank god we got him the most.

Love was BAD today. But, it was an off day in terms of his offense. Its still the defense which is a worry. Hopefully with Mozgod in the team, we will get to see him not getting exploited as he is now.
That's the thing about this thread I love the most...excuse the pun. He has a 17/16/4 night and he is a piece of shit. And yet the last three nights he goes 28/11/3 and I don't see any comments on how well he performed vs. the rest of the team...and we lost 3 of the 4 games. You can't have it both ways.

Each night there will be one or more of the big 3 that can carry the team and the others don't perform so well. And when you have 1/2 of the new rotation players out, then that usually will result in a loss. Until we are healthy and get all of the rest of the team integrated into the system it will continue to be that way. Get used to it for now but look forward to actually making the playoffs this year for a change.

Jesus... Just get behind the man, it seems like he's pressing to be really good and a winner. You can get angry or upset with him but don't go calling him any different. He is a good ass NBA player. We just need to get behind our dude because it will most certainly pay off.

Keep R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G.

He is not a winning player, and seeing him play nightly now I think we all have a better understanding for how he could put up huge box scores and the Twolves never went anywhere.

He gives up as many points as he gets out there which is why his box scores are irrelevant.

He's a nice complimentary piece, but he can't be counted to do crap when the game is tight and his assholes puckering.

That we are going to give him a 9 figure deal this off-season is mind boggling.

Love is way better than what he is showing.

Watched him for a long time. When a guy is a stud and then comes to Cleveland where we have some rookie Euro coach and suddenly looks like trash, it's not a coincidence.

Blatt needs to figure out how to use Love properly soon. And the team needs to make an effort to get him shots and feed him.

Or he'll be gone come summer.

I hope for the sake of this franchise and its fans that you are right. I will happily eat crow if things work out with this trade that cost us not 1, but 2 first round picks. Ohhh but the 2 first round picks are going to be late anyway blah blah blah. The Mavericks just got Rajon Rondo for a protected 1st round pick and 2 garbage players and a mediocre Brandon Wright. But it is the law of supply and demand and he may not have wanted to go to any other team but the Mavericks blah blah blah. Where was that logic when the Twolves were fleecing the Cavs for Wiggins? The Cavs have a short championship window with LeBron we needed to get the team together in offseason so Love could gel. Why is this entire thread since the beginning of the season about Love not gelling? Honestly I'd be half the mind to trade away LeBron and Love for Anthony Davis so we could watch one of the best duos in NBA history with Kyrie and Davis. Too bad for that letter.

Well if you look at certain teams that we need to beat we need something to defend the paint and Mozgov is fast and has great footwork for a big guy and he should really stand up to players like he could have against Howard tonight. If you plug a defensive true 8 and 10 stat center who can get you blocks on a team with Major scorers like ours it never hurts. I am trying to think of a player like him. Basically he is a quicker Asik with more offensive skill.

As long as we don't have to rely on Kevin Love for defense, he's an amazing player. That's kind of why I want Dalembert on this team. You can pretty much have Mozgov or Dalembert in the game at all times and not have to worry about Love's defense inside. Man is going to need to learn how to put his hands up when we play guys like Dirk though. I mean damn man.

Ok, let's go over Love's stats for the month of January. That's the last 4 games, including his "horrible, awful, worst game ever" performance against the Rockets.

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/splits/_/id/3449/kevin-love

25.5 PPG
12.5 RPG
02.5 APG
36.8 MPG
48% FG
35% Three
71% FT

When I come into this thread, it feels like walking into Bizarro World. All logic and reason seems cast aside completely.

Just to help put things into further perspective, let's compare those above stats to the ones Love put up last season when he had a 26.9 PER (3rd best in the NBA behind Durant and LeBron).

26.1 PPG
12.5 RPG
04.4 APG
36.3 MPG
46% FG
38% Three
82% FT

Looks pretty similar. I think Love just might turn out to be an ok player in this league.

This. This right here!

He can average 26 points every night but its all for nothing when he gives up 30 points on the defensive end. Thats why some people are saying his stats are empty because its only showing the offensive side of the ball. Unfortunately there are two ends to the court and this is why he can put up good stats but his teams still lose a shit ton of games.

Realistically, he needs to be scoring atleast 35-40 points every night to cover up for his putrid defense. Hopefully Timofy helps cover some of his defensive inabilities.

PS- Him and Delly to need to learn how to make a fucking free throw in the 4th quarter.

Maybe his shot has looked a little off lately b/c he is playing roughly FORTY MINUTES A GAME with LBJ out. In those 40 minutes, he is typically guarded by the opposing team's strongest, biggest player.

We are playing without key pieces. I am not all that surprised he looks fatigued as of late. Last night, i actually saw better defensive effort out of him then i had recently.

It is tough to guard the league's best center, especially when he outweighs you by about 50 pounds. I think that would make me tired but what do i know, i am just a Cavs fan...

Right.

So the impressive stats he's putting up in Cleveland and losing are comparable to the empty stats he put up when he was losing in Minny.

The argument isn't that his stats aren't impressive from a fantasy basketball standpoint. They're awesome.

The argument is that he looks soft, isn't putting forth effort on defense and provides limited to no leadership when he's on the floor. Noone's shocked that his defense still sucks. But it doesn't mean there wasn't hope he'd turn it around once he was on what should have been a contender.

That and his shooting sucks by his standards too.
