I know, because applauding someone who suggests we use more data and statistics (rather than pure conjecture), is just a bad idea. Right?

There's a reason why I ceased responding to that poster. I think you have encapsulated that reason pretty well. Nothing against him or her, but arguing facts vs emotion or some similar debate just gets old.

Advanced statistics helped to put an end to the error of the eye test. The newer statistics aren't flawless, but they are much better than the old way of looking at things which many felt left too much room for subjective assessments.

LeBrons on the decline, Kyrie still doesn't know how to run a team, Love is weak and steals his own teammates rebounds, Tristan sucks, Miller/Marion/Jones are cadavers, Shumpert isn't the defender he was as a rookie, JR is a nutcase, Mozgov is overrated on this board, Delly shouldn't even be on the Aussie JV team, Blatt can only coach in Euroleague, Griffin doesn't value assets, Cavsdan is a meddler.

Did I miss anything?

I do not like Kevin Love.

I actually applaud this statement. Because I think you are being more honest and open than some of the posters in the thread who seem to feel as you do but who are presenting tortured "reasons" to try to justify why they came to the same conclusion you did.

I think it's better to just be honest about it, as you did here.

Love is not the most likable guy in the world, in personality and certainly not in athletic ability (he doesn't "look" good with how he plays compared to someone like Wiggins).

What Love is is productive. That's why I'm happy he is on the team. If he were not, I would not want him on the team.

Lol I was talking about his game. He's a stretch 4 with an inconsistent jumper and against other elite PFs I don't think he's a net positive considering how much of a liability he is defensively. I don't think this team is suited to succeed in the playoffs and it concerns me.

Only person I "don't like" (personality wise and off-court behavior considered) on this team is LeBron.

I was well against the Love trade not because I did not want Love--I did--but because I did not want to give up the record haul that Griffin did for a player who was in his last contract year. No team gave up what Griffin did--check out what was given for Chris Paul or Howard-- in their last year of a contract. Now that Wiggins is playing so well, and Love and the Cavs have struggled, it is even more troubling.

I still maintain that if we told Flip we'll offer him Dion, Bennett and our picks or leave it, he would have blinked and accepted it since Love was leaving and only wanted to come here. No team would touch Love after they realized he would only re-sign here.

Imagine if we now had Lebron, Wiggins, Love and Kyrie. Wiggins is the stretch 2 guard who is a physical freak who can defend and who has stepped up his offensive game so well so quickly. In a couple years, he could be a superstar--all the while on a cheap rookie contract. There is still risk that Love leaves, although I think he won't.

Because of trading Wiggins, we dealt for Schumert who missed more time than Kyrie these past four years and is out again with another serious injury. Regardless, he's not been the same defender since his knee injury and has a limited offensive game and is looking for a big contract next year. We also had to take on a headcase in JR two years to get him. Schumert is not the same defensive player he was before the knee injury and has missed more games these past four years due to injury than Kyrie

If Griffin has a fault, it's paying above or well above market rate in his trades. He's no Chris Grant. I think after the Love trade all teams knew he would blink, causing teams like Denver to just hold out for two number one picks.

Again, this is not an anti-Kevin love thread. I like Kevin and met him after a game two weeks ago and he is awesome, a real person. I just hated what we gave up for him.

I hope the Cavs prove me wrong.

You make some good points here.

I think the challenge is Griff also has to deal with LBJ + Dan G. dynamic. Lebron signing that short contract (and showing signs of decline) puts a ton of pressure on Griff to get deals done to build a contender immediately and other GM's know it.

And with Dan G., his bread is buttered by LBJ period. Keeping LBJ happy is priority #1 for the financial implications alone, so if rushing/overpaying on deals to get the pieces he wants is the cost of making that happen, you already know the end result.

From whatever I had read in the summer, the Wolves were offered Waiters + Bennett + Picks, but the one they desperately wanted was Wiggins who was a franchise player in their eyes. That is why it was either Wiggins + Others or no deals. The other option was probably Kyrie but no way that was going to happen.

Give Kevin 10 games to play alongside Mozgov and then pass judgement.

Guys even Love isn't a finished product. Odds are, in Minnesota he didn't have any more or less winning experience than Kyrie.

We have to view Love and Irving as developing players, this is the first season where people are coming for their throat every night.

There's a new coach, there was a roster turnover of 12 bodies.

It's not going to look great, I'll admit Kevin has looked like shit, but it's because the other team says "why let Love destroy you 1 on 1, when you can double team him, leave Tristan go outside for a cigarette and he still won't score?"

There's just not the right blend at this time, and I'm sure once Mozzy gets next to Love things should look different. He's pretty bad defensively, real bad, and he's been taught not to foul.

Me personally I'd actually like to see Love foul out of a game, then I'd know he's at least trying to wrap a body up.

Worst case scenario what do yall think we could get in a sign and trade with Love?

I really think that the addition of Mozgov is going to allow the best of Kevin Love to really shine through. Granted, he's been pretty dinged up this year and his shooting has taken a hit as a result, but the Pekovic-Love pairing in Minnesota worked out tremendously and I think Mozgov can step into that role and put Kevin back into his comfort zone.

The Kevin Love / Al Jefferson pairing wasn't half bad either, although smaller sample size.

Even the Kevin Love / Gorgui Dieng pairing was solid.

Cavs have not been able to put anything even remotely similar next to him until tonight.

Windy thoughts on Love from Windy's 1-9-15 radio show.

- Love should have gotten the ball down the stretch against 76ers, Rockets

- Love not having a great year, but team doing nothing for him. That starts with Blatt

Well then. As long as there is blame to be assigned. Time to get creative though. Who hasn't gotten it yet? Hmmm.

I blame the trainer guy with the colorful sweaters. Anyone that loves sweaters that much must be a monster.

He also seems to have a "chill mode" which happens to be all the time...walks up and down the court all game.
