I'm listening to NBA Radio on Sirius driving into work today, and I'm amazed at how many people still think that Love will bolt the Cavs at the end of the year for so-called greener pastures. I doubt that he even opts out as the money next summer will be considerably more than the money this summer.

It could also be that fans of other teams are hoping he bolts so the Cavs get weaker as well as hoping he would join their team.

If you're a Laker or Knicks fan, wouldn't you be saying that and trying to convince yourself there's a possibility? You can't have a market like Cleveland have 3 top 10 players on their roster. Cleveland doesn't deserve it. Of course Love is going to bolt because he's used to being top dog and he'll want to make name for himself in a big market and become the number 1 option again. Forget that he's winning a lot of games and will make the playoffs the first time in his career. Forget that he's seen how tough it is even with great players around to build chemistry and be a championship contender. All he should care about is making a name for himself and trying to be #1 and leading a (insert big market team) back to the playoffs and win a championship there. Nope, doesn't matter if Love said he doesn't want to opt out and says he's a Cavalier long term. He's going to want his share of shots like he had in Minnesota, but in a bigger market.

Oh Lebron? He's going to bolt too after Kevin Love bolts. He'll go to the Knicks or back to Miami. Or maybe he'll follow Love to the Lakers.. because you know, he'll want to build a legacy there instead of Cleveland.

You knew this was going to happen. It's more dramatic and a bigger story if there's discord with one of the three and a chance that they break up. It drives the meter. Fans who don't have the situation that the Cavs have want that and will convince themselves any way possible that there will be a chance they end up with one of them as long as they aren't signed to a long term contract.

Delusional fans, many there are.

I seriously don't get the narratives that surround the klove in cleveland. I mean, I get why, I just don't see how anyone can seriously believe them.

"He's going to bolt to the lakers!" ... Why in gods name would he do that? The lakers are terrible right now, and very well could be terrible for the next 2-3 years. They're not even his hometown team for god's sake! He lived in Oregon all his life!

Even if they do form a super team, love is kind of already on a super team, with the best player on the planet. IMO the whole, "Players want to play in a big market" thing is overblown these days. Players want to play on great teams. They'll live where they want during the off-season.

Then there's the whole "His body language is terrible, he's clearly unhappy" all these mfers who suddenly have PhD's in body language analysis popping out of the woodwork (I blame bill simmons). If they have ever seen him play before, that's just how he looks. He doesn't look unhappy, he looks like kevin love. Not to mention that everything he has said, since the day he signed on, has been how he understands it will take time, how it's all about winning. Jesus.

And maybe my personal favorite "He needs to be more aggressive, he needs to attack more" HE'S A STRETCH 4 WITH KYRIE IRVING AND LEBRON JAMES, HE'S STRETCHING THE FLOOR. The cavs lead the league in isolation points right now right? maybe not the ideal situation, but did anybody ever stop and think that might be because there's one less defender in the paint every-time love is on the floor?

Anybody ever stop to consider that kevin love is in all of the cavs most successful line-ups? Every single one? He's playing his part, and as time goes on his part will get more integrated and the cavs will become absolutely terrifying on offense. But apparently love should run in front of the LeBron and demand the ball. Who cares if LeBron james driving with kevin love stretching is literally one of the best plays in basketball, Klove should be more aggressive.

I guess that's national media attention for you. Got to keep the people entertained with anything other than good basketball analysis.

Our offense looks so smooth when you give Kevin the ball. There was a spurt when Kyrie came back into the game after getting his shoulder looked at.

Kyrie brought the ball up the court. Gave it to J.R. Kevin, seeing J.R. looking for him, got in position around the elbow and receives the pass. Kevin drives and scores like a power forward.

Kyrie brings the ball up the court on the next possession. Gave it to J.R. Kevin, seeing J.R. looking for him again, got in position around the shoulder and receives the pass. Kevin Facilitates and gets Tristan a layup.

Kyrie brings the ball up the court on the next two possessions. Goes away from what's working and doesn't post Kevin up like J.R. did. Result = a bad shot, a hard foul on Kyrie, and Iguodala hits a three on the following play.

Noticed the same thing. In the game thread posters were pointing out go back to Love after those plays and they went away from him. If I have one quibble right now with the Cavs, it is Kyrie and Love don't have great chemistry right now. JR does a better job of getting the ball to him either on ball swings or in the post.

There was also a similar play we in the 4th when Kyrie was dribbling to setup a mid range jumper off the dribble and Love had his hands up Waiters style asking for the ball. Love is definitely used to playing with a traditional PG whose mentality is to setup other people and he hasn't quite gelled with Kyrie yet

Love enjoys being The Man?

Tonight he can show what he's all about. Cavs without LBJ and Kyrie. Time for this guy to ball the fuck out and show people what he can do.

We need this kind of Kevin Love today.
Blatt should show him this performance before the game and remind him that he can do it tonight.

About your quote on the chemistry of Love and Irving

When Irving plays without love his EFG% is about 58 percent, with Love on it's only 50 percent. On the other hand IIRC kyrie's effect on loves EFG is marginal.

I don't know why.

I really want to see him excel and lead this team when Kyrie and LeBron are out.

I don't know if he has it in him.

Will be interesting to hear the chorus of excuses coming out of this game....

The only excuses that should be heard is why Blatt didn't make adjustments on offense to suit Love's game more. Spacing means dick without Irving and James and the offense should have run through Love at his spots at the elbows and top of the key.

You're the type of parent that would solely blame the school teacher for your child's inability to know his basic math facts. My boy Kevin is an angel, he's putting forth all the effort it's not his fault that he doesn't know 4x7=28 it's the teachers' fault for not putting him in a position to succeed.

You've been waiting all month for a game like this, haven't you?
