Unfortunately, people have been saying the pain subsides after a couple of hours, but the inflammation starts up, meaning tomorrow, it's going to be hard for Kevin to raise his arms over his head. Best case scenario is game 4 of ECF or start of the Finals.
Oh

JR Smiths' swing was a clear flagrant 2 with a rest for the next game coming courtesy the league office.

He wants to play G1 next round?

Damn Kevin is a tough dude. Respect.

If I've learned one thing, it's that shoulder injuries are a lot more common than I thought.

Tore my labrum my freshman year of college...pitched the whole year and didn't tell anyone about it until after the season was over. Will be all about pain tolerance for K Love if he tore something and wants to play through it.

If KLove toughs it out and winds up playing with this injury, then he should have EVERYONE's utmost respect and anyone who questioned his toughness or criticized him unfairly should apologize.

BTW, ABC STILL acting like it was a random injury and now Jeff Van Gundy saying it was an accident and doesn't think Olynk did anything intentional after "watching several replays."

WHAT THE FUCK IS HE TALKING ABOUT?

Jeff Van Gundy is and always has been a mouth breathing asshole.

Unintentional ? Ok.

Shoulder dislocation facts
  • The shoulder joints are the most commonly dislocated joints in the body.
  • Approximately 25% of shoulder dislocations have associated fractures.
  • Closed reduction, without the need for surgery, is the most common initial treatment. Medications may be required for sedation to help facilitate the reduction.
  • Immobilization with a sling is important to decrease the risk of a repeat dislocation. First dislocations are immobilized in an external rotation position. Recurrent dislocations may be immobilized in a regular sling.
  • Early follow-up is important to decide when to begin allowing shoulder motion.
  • Total time of immobilization varies, and balance needs to exist between shoulder stability and loss of motion and function from prolonged immobilization.
  • Uncomplicated rehabilitation and healing will allow return to normal function in 12-16 weeks.

Any chance that Love
verbally going after Olynyk is a way for the Cavs to indirectly justify JR's action and draw attention off of him? Feels forced.

Occam's Razor.

What is more likely? Love just had his arm ripped out of the socket, is hopped up on adrenaline and is raging at the guy who did it.... Or

The cavs immediately calmed him down and launched a post third quarter plan that Love should go after Olynyk verbally in an attempt to divert attention from the JR Smith Flagrant.

Hes toughed it out the whole season with bad back. I say people should have not expected less of him

My hope is the league office takes the Love injury (and it's intentional nature) into account when deciding punishment for Smith.

There is no irony because I don't complain when people hit the disagree button like you do ad-nauseum like it matters one iota. It happens.

..facepalm.. the irony is that here you are, second post, and you're still bitching...
You're complaining about people "complaining.."

You really needed me to explain this to you?

And it's fine for people to share their experiences but to act as if it's just some laughing matter because people are a disagreeing with him projecting his injury as if it's the exact injury Love had is completely fair.

But that's not what @Zen was doing, and this is a completely unfair characterization of his post.

Why would anyone disagree with him relaying his own personal experience? It's idiotic and a misuse of the forum feature.

For the record, I don't necessarily disagree with him, but I do understand why people don't want to hear about his injury and how it relates to Kevin Love.

Good for you...

But I do want to hear about his experience. That's the reason that, as soon as the injury happened, I opened my laptop and punched in RCF in the location bar. I wanted to read what people thought.

Now here I am going back and forth with you about how you understand why this kind of information shouldn't be shared... I don't come here to read posts like yours, I come to read the posts that Zen, Mar, and others have posted.

That's why I said, and will continue to say, don't hush these guys... I'm more concerned with what they are saying than any of these bitchy / whiny posts.

Every last person here knows the potential severity to it.

Right, so you'd like everyone to have a moment of silence? It's a discussion board. I want to read discussion.

And "disagreeing" isn't telling him to be quiet. It's a disagreement.

Go read the thread.. This is more than just someone pulling a "disagree" and run.

Something you can never handle.

..yawn.. keep it moving bro.. you've said your peace. No need to clutter the thread with this bullshit.

All comes down to the degree/extent of structural damage. MRI will tell more. Painkillers, cortisone and modern therapy can get him back on the court. If the shoulder pops out every time he raises his arms above shoulder height, though, then we got a problem. Only solution for that is time (more than we got) and (possible) surgery.

Partially tore mine as a sophomore in HS. Pitched the whole year without telling anyone.

Side-note: There are people that are comparing what Olynyk did to what Smith did. Really? Smith didn't put Crowder in a DAMN ARMBAR! Just ridiculous.
