Having wrestled throughout high school and college.. Yep, that's exactly what I think.

It's not about UFC/MMA, lots of guys know how to do an armbar.

I say this because of a couple things. One, the way Olynyk basically rushed Kevin from behind, then grabs him, then isolates his arm very oddly. Then, and most damning of all was the way he folded his arms to clasp Kevin's and then dropped his own shoulder and weight to finalize.

It was, to me watching it, 100% intentional just as Kevin said.

[QUOTE="MirORich, post: 2127643, member: 132Again, I am not arguing that he isn't responsible for his reckless non basketball play, but I'm just trying to figure out exactly what you're saying.

So, just so we're clear, I am 100% saying that yes, Olynyk intentionally tried to injure Kevin Love. He might not have expected to be so successful, but unfortunately for us, he was.

It was "bush league," "intentional," and the league needs to act.

The only way the league could act that would help us is not suspend JR and to let Love HGH his shoulder up to heal faster. Two things that could very well happen in the NBA. :chuckle:

Guess tomorrow is the day I refresh Woj's twitter account all day.

Hopefully it is just a minor wave instead of a massive bomb.

Guarantee Olynyk won't even get suspended, by the new pushover commissioner. Stern would have body slammed him on the spot, cut up his girlie hair to pieces, then bury him alive for what he did.

The Bullshit Whisperer is trash, why do people still trust him.

I agree 100% that it was not a basketball play and that it was cheap and not right. But you're suggesting you think in a split second move, Olynyk though to himself "hmm, maybe I can employ this UFC/MMA technique on him"?

Again, I am not arguing that he isn't responsible for his reckless non basketball play, but I'm just trying to figure out exactly what you're saying.

Allow me to clear it up for you: Gour is saying that it looks like Olynyk intentionally armbarred Kevin Love, and based on what I saw he is absolutely right. I DVRed the game and re-watched the play at least a dozen times. Olynyk is in no position to get the loose ball because Love has essentially "boxed him out" of the play. So what did Olynyk do? He grabbed Love'ss arm with one hand, held it in place with his other upper arm and then pulled and twisted while he put his weight on it.

It was intentional. Period.

Again, the ball was nowhere near either player during this altercation and Olynyk was literally dragging Love by the shoulder with his weight and motion for the entire duration.

It was, to me watching it, 100% intentional, just as Kevin said; and I doubt Love would've said this if he didn't seriously believe it.

Yep. He clearly knew exactly what he was doing. Sometimes we act like these guys completely shut off their brains when playing. Frankly, it's exactly like Wade's take down of Rondo. Everyone tried to argue it was an accident, but when you watch the tape, it doesn't add up.

I think what is most annoying, at least to me, is that Love had maybe his best game as a Cav in Game 3. His confidence was up. He hit the dagger to seal the game.

That is what sucks the most. It looked like it finally clicked.

Got to wonder if that had anything to do with what Kelly did to Kevin.

Agree. But crap happens. Who the heck knows, maybe Rose and Butler both tear ACLs tomorrow against the Bucks :img56:
See, maybe this right here is why he got hurt. Karma from all the people that keep wishing another injury on Rose.

It was intentional, and worse yet, it came in a game that had zero meaning to the Celtics. They were down 3-0 and had no hope to win this series, but instead of bowing out with class they decided to try and ruin the season of the team that was eliminating them.

Exactly. And this is why the NBA should come down on Olynyk like a fucking anvil: he just compromised the competitive integrity of the league's most anticipated second-round series. If Love can't go, fans will be denied two heated rivals going at each other full strength.

And this all started because the refs had been completely unwilling to police overly physical play throughout the series. The Cavs generally responded the right way by simply taking it, and giving it back on the scoreboard. This, combined with the mugging of Kyrie that led him to re-aggravate his hip injury, kinda forced Blatt to send a message via Perk. I didn't agree with the timing or the method, but shit was getting out of hand. Crowder needed to hit the floor. Hard. Then they left Perk in (!), which only escalated things further. Crowder kept playing like the cheap-shot artist he is, and JR way overreacted.

None of this happens if the refs tighten shit up. Instead, they let a bad situation get worse, and the Cavs will play Game 1 and probably Game 2 without two starters. I'm irate, and the league better be, too. This is bad for business.
