Kings Staying Put (was Sonics coming back)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Sonics coming back?

What else is there to do in Seattle? It fucking rains every day. They are a depressed people. They need shit like that to go to, so of course they show up to all the games. But I don't find it my prerogative to get them a team again. I'm just trying to understand why a bunch of others do.

Well, my motivation is that I was a pseudo-Sonics fan before I was a Cavs fan. :chuckles:

Re: Sonics coming back?

Because they actually showed up, good or bad teams. Because they RAGED when they moved the original Sonics. Do you honestly think there would be that much of an uproar if the Cavs moved? Probably not. Nobody would care. 0bodies.

Fuck yes there would be an uproar. Cleveland loves their teams and they would be super pissed if we lost another one.

Please. PLEASE. There would be no tears over a struggling Cavs team leaving. None.

I call bullshit on that. The Kings have been terrible for a decade and have no franchise player and their fans are still in an uproar. Cleveland was good four years ago, has one of the best young players in the game, and a bright future.

Re: Sonics coming back?

I don't hear anybody in an uproar other than their stupid mayor.

This might be hard for you to believe, but there are in fact plenty of people in Cleveland who care about the Cavs. The Indians too, for that matter. Don't believe everything talk radio tells you.

This site is proof enough. Gameday threads when LeBron was here frequently reached 100 pages. Now we're lucky if they reach 10.

And it's more than that too. The fact is, no matter how bad the Cavs, Indians, or Browns are, no matter how many futile years they have, the entire city would still go into an uproar if one of them were to move. You know why? Because they're our fucking teams. They've always been our fucking teams.

Sure, not as many fans go to games now as they did three years ago, but that fact is irrelevant. I'm sure most of you guys watch games less often than you did when LeBron was here. I know I do. I still watch a lot of them, but I don't sweat it if I have something else to do when a Cavs game is on. However, there's a big difference between going to games less often or skipping them on TV than there is in actually moving the team.

If Auric honestly doesn't think that the city would be outraged to find out that Gilbert planned to move the Cavs, he's incredibly naive.

I'm not sure what kind of trolling is going on here but you are being an ignorant ass. First, the mayor is not stupid. Second it is a big deal and the entire metro area is pissed and has been. Third, it would be a huge deal just like it is in sac if any cleveland franchise was teasing about moving season after season.

You are going to extreme lengths to push your Seattle agenda and it is not appreciated.

Agreed, Auric/Pyro. Stop trolling in this thread and stop trolling about how fans on a Cavs board would not care if the Cavs left. Go visit another forum (not RCF) if you want to peddle this junk. It's not appropriate for this thread or for RCF. Let this thread be about the Sonics and not about you.

Re: Sonics coming back?

The only reason moving a team is justified is if the city won't even support them when their winning.

We care what happens in Sacramento and Seattle, because we know it could be us. Heck, it was us.

Re: Sonics coming back?

Would a team in Seattle return with the name of the Supersonics and same colors as the originals? Or is everyone just assuming this?
