Could we trade for him? He's looking better than Dion right now (although not necessarily better than Dion looked the second half of last year). Defensive player of the year in the ACC and a great athlete. Been very impressed by what I've seen of him this year on an otherwise horrible Sixer team, seems to be a decent 3 point shooter as well. Very low salary this year and will be a free agent (restricted?) next year so the Sixers might be OK letting him go. Playing great for a rookie.

It really depends on how the Sixers really feel about him. He's gonna be a fantastic player, and I don't see any reason why Philly wouldn't wanna hang to him.

But, he did sign that deal with the express purpose of getting paid right away. We could offer up to the amount of that Bogans exception in a sign and trade. Although I feel like McDaniels at $5 million a year is totally palatable in Sixers minds.

I really wanted him in the draft, and I wanted to try to pry him away if we were going to make a three team trade with Philly. But at this point, I think we missed our opportunity. We can't pry him away for virtually nothing now.

fuck it, trade Dion for him. On the Sixers Dion would count as good.

Philly, a team openly tanking and trying to play as many cheap young guys as possible, would be the least motivated team in the league to make a trade like this. Someone give me one good reason why they would trade KJ McDaniels for anything other than a team severely overpaying? Fit isn't important to them right now. Trying to win games isn't important right now. So you'd need to really blow them away.

Rich, stop screwing with my fantasy.

But actually, I wonder if Philly has to do something. They can't go on like this all year and post the worst record in NBA history. They have to look more like they're trying.

Surprised I've seen RCF mention his name in connection with the Cavs. Part of the reason Philly accumulated all those 2nd round picks was get multiple shots at drafting guys like this, and now that he is playing well, why would they trade him? I don't understand why they didn't sign him to a multiyear contract though.

Plus, it's not like the Cavs would be looking for a rookie to play rotational minutes for them anyway.

I also want to add that this guy really did project to be a good NBA player based on the most reliable advanced stats analysis of his college career. I don't know why he slipped to the second round. Goes to show NBA front offices are still making mistakes in the draft and viable NBA players are slipping further than they should.

They tried to sign him to a multi year deal and he refused. That is why there might be some hope in pulling off a trade if they feel he doesn't want to be there. It will be interesting to watch him going into free agency though.

If he had slipped one pick he was a cav.

How's his hair Ty?

I know, that kind of hurt that he went one slot in front of us. I'm not as good at judging curly hair; he looks like he will be lucky to hang on to his though. Tristan has a really nice haircut and a good head of hair though. Too bad it doesn't help him get defensive rebounds or block shots.

He screwed a lot of fantasies however. It was for the greater good look at where we are now. Now the ones who were dead set on Bron not coming back still owe us something... We got past that. Anyways he is right no way Philly gives up on anyone young until they know what they have. I can see Noel in two years on the market though.

Please rate top 10 hair in the NBA.

NBA hair used to be such an important part of the league... I don't know what has happened, but it just isn't the same. Years ago we even had the white guys like Pollard, Brad Miller, and Radmanovic acting a fool in the barber chair.

10. Joakim Noah - His mother is a supermodel and he goes and does that.
9. Brandon Jennings - Reliably off-putting.
8. Louis Amundson - Don't sleep on the Cavalier reserve, he's got some Thor in him.
7. AK 47 - Kirilenko is a touch stone for bad European hair fashion.
6. Charlie Villanueva - Yes, it's such a weak crop the guy who can't grow hair made the top 10.
5. Elfrid Payton - Color Purple throwback hair.
4. Birdman Anderson - Years of cocaine and child porn take a toll on a man.
3.Anderson Varejao - The most iconic hair of the past decade of Cleveland sports.
2. Nerlens Noel - Yeah, Shumpert was the first to bring back the Kid n' Play high fade, but Noel is putting it on the map.
1. Robin Lopez - Keeping Portland weird. Props.

Im going to need some time to compile this list. The nba isn't exactly a hot bed for great hair though. I will tell you that Miller and Nash rank high though, and Tristan will probably be up there.

Edit: @Randolphkeys beat me to the punch.

Man, it was soul crushing when he slipped so far and then the Sixers snapped him up right in front of us. I was advocating for either him or Kyle Anderson at #9, and somehow both of them nearly slipped to #33 :chuckle:
