Knicks want Wally

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If the Knicks trade for Monta somehow, I'd really like AV to Golden State and LEE TO CLE!

Ummmm... Just because Thomas was a total idiot does NOT mean that the Knicks' players are all a bunch of D-Leaguers!

The biggest knock on Thomas was that the Knicks had so much talent, and that it was all going to waste under his leadership!

The knock on Thomas was that he pursued guys who looked good on paper without concern for style of play, maturity, whether they could fit in to a team-concept, whether they played defense, and how they fit together.

When he was told he needed a defender, he overspent on Jeffries.

When he was told he had too many head chefs in the kitchen he reached in the draft in order to take a dish-washer in Balkman.

To top it all off, his ego wouldn't allow him to let Larry Brown break it all down and clean out anyone who didn't want to do what it takes to win. He really thought he had a good team.

So now they have a coach that can work with a team that just wants to play offense. Why would they give up Crawford?

Now maybe they might want to trade Curry? No telling if his heart would burst trying to get up and down the court at D'Antoni's pace. But I just don't see Ferry/Brown getting too excited over a C who struggles to maintain focus on the court, doesn't play D, and can't rebound.

I can't really believe people would want Randolph.

Dude is like the biggest cancer in the nba.

Yea, he can play, but do you risk sticking a unstable presence, complete black hole on offense, constant whiner, someone who refuses to practice at times, fakes injuries AND he has a absolutely absymal contract?

The Grass ain't greener guys, especially the dank that is floating around this board apparently...

CDT is right, theres only a few knicks even worth that, and some of them still aren't sure fire ballers in our system.

Lee obviously is.

Robinson and Crawford, might be good pickups, and if nothing else presents itself, someone like Crawford might excel in our system, we need a guard that can put it in the hole.

The kid they got at #6 from Italy is supposed to be good also, but thats it. Balkman MAYBE.

And guess what guys, those are the guys NY knows are good, and would not offload for an expiring Wally.

I dont want Randolph, I dont want Crawford, I dont want Carter...CRAP CRAP AND MORE CRAP , NO !! It's all cancer
I want fresh legs and fresh minds

we can get crawford, lee and robinson for wally and a filler. get er done ferry.

"2003 - broke Ruben Patterson's eye socket in fight"

So what you're saying is that he could team up with Wallace to be our enforcers? j/k

I would have to guess that if they bring Randolph in that they do their background on him. Also, if a trade would go down Randolph would be coming to the most stable team that he's been on in years so that might help.

I'm really torn on the idea of adding Crawford and or Randolph. They definately have talent but to make it work here they'd have to be willing to change. Randolph could be a beast in the post and has a nice midrange jumper. Crawford is a slick scorer who needs to learn to play off people instead of force things. With Lebron both players would get quite a few easy looks, and I have to think that playing with a superstar like Lebron who does pass the ball could be a little contagious. In New York they were probably afraid that if they passed the ball they would never get it back.

It looks like Randolphs gonna be a Clipper by the time the new season starts anyway.

Guys of "that caliber" are "always" available???????????????

Ummmm... Just because Thomas was a total idiot does NOT mean that the Knicks' players are all a bunch of D-Leaguers!

The biggest knock on Thomas was that the Knicks had so much talent, and that it was all going to waste under his leadership!

Jamal Crawford is legit, and at 8 million per year, easily "earns" his paycheck; Zach Randolph is one of the few legit 20-10 guys in the entire league... players of his caliber ARE NOT "always" available! In-fact, the only other 20-10 guy that was given a contract this summer, received a max-deal.

If we could get Zach and Jamal in a deal where we were only giving-up Wally & filler, THAT would NOT be a "desperation" move!!!!

A 20-10 PF, who is only 26, with 7 years experience in the NBA and a SG who is 6'5, and scores 20 per game and is only 28. If you remove the fact that they play for the knicks, people are jumping all over these two!

If Ferry got them both in a deal where Wally was the centerpiece, that wouldn't be an act of desperation... "that" would be a Coup-De-Gra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You sound just like Isiah Thomas. "Zach Randolph! 20/10 guy! I must get him! Only a few of those guys in the league!" How did that work out? You ever wonder why Randolph went to New York for the carcass of Steve Francis? Because he's not very good. Drew Gooden put up some solid numbers here and everybody hated him because they were hollow. Same thing with Randolph except he is a complete jackass on top of the holes in his game. He comes here, and I guarantee he is getting the Larry Hughes treatment in two months tops.

Crawford isn't the answer at the 2. He's only put up 20 points per game once in his career and that was on a team that lost 59 games. That's the only time he's ever been over 17.7 and his career FG% is barely over 40. How is he going to respond to not having the ball in his hands very much and only getting 10-12 shots a game? Is he going to start playing D?

Why don't we just bring Ricky Davis back? He was a big numbers guy on terrible teams too. A 20/5/5 guy at one point. How could we go wrong with that?

I'd be interested in Jamal.

The guy is a shooting guard who can score the basketball, actually, he can score with the best of them sometimes. Jamal always kills us as well, picture what he could do with us, would be interesting. But I think Wally's contract could land us something better come trade deadline. I've accepted the fact already that it seems Ferry and the gang will be waiting the deadline come mid-season, which honestly, isn't a bad idea at all. Only thing that sucks is, we have to deal with the new player(s) for half a season, then playoffs. Would be nice to have them before the season begins.

JJ Hickson is Randolph without all the headcase... hopefully translates to a super career in the NBA. But, Danny Ferry won't bring in a guy like that to this team ...and doing so would do more to drive Lebron James out of Cleveland than keep him here.

I gotta agree, I have absolutely NO desire to see Randolph in a Cavs uni. The guy is a bigger nut job than Artest. At least some of Artest's antics were amusing (like applying at circuit city :chuckles:). Randolph is a good scorer, and rebounder. Yeah he put up 20/10 but the guy just refuses to play team ball and he is a total thug, no thanks.

Just about the only guy I want from the Knicks is David Lee, and I really don't see them parting with the only real serviceable player they have. I'd be willing to take one of their terrible contracts to get Lee if necessary. The kid is a beast.

like others have been saying there just isn't too much on the Knicks roster that interests me. really the only guy that I would consider is David Lee who would fill in nicely for Varejao when they ship him out. great FG% and just about a double double guy in 29 minutes, oh yeah and here is something new for the Cavs he makes his free throws.

I really don't see how a guy like Nate Robinson would fit in Mike Brown's defensive scheme, seems like he might be too much of a liability.

actually the other guy from the Knicks I would look at is Wilson Chandler. I think he has the potential to be a good perimeter defender and his offense will improve as he gets more experience.

I guess if the want Wally bad enough to give up Gallinari I would be on board.

Jamal Crawford would be an up grade for the Cavs at SG but he just seems like another Larry Hughes type guy to me, minus the defense. he can get streaky hot and have big games but I have a feeling there would be a lot of complaints about him during the coarse of the season.

not sure if this would even work cap wise but maybe I do Wally for Lee, Chandler, Gallinari but that is about it.

Is there anybody else that could be picked up around the deadline other than the regulars? (Redd..VC?)
