Knicks want Wally

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think TB22 meant "or" rather than "and." At least I hope so, because if not I'll second your nomination.

If there is one saving grace to Jamal Crawford it is that with all the knuckleheads and shananigans going on with the Knicks he was reportedly one of the guys that stayed the most professional.

He just happens to be an unconsciousness gunner. That is just his game,

nope Lee, Chandler, and Gallanari......if they aren't willing to do that they must not want Wally all that bad :chuckles:

I was just joking I don't expect them to trade Gallinari but it was just an exaggerated way of saying the Knicks don't have much I would want.

whats wrong with that? He makes shots to. He can be a real #2 scorer behind lebron. He is also a real thought unlike redd, davis, and all that crap. With crawford you can keep wallace starting for his def, becausethere be another scorer on the floor.

Z
wallace
lebron
crawford
west

That team could get us to the finals, lebron alone could get us to the finals. crawford would help us alot.

You guys are getting really desperate if you think that Crawford would be LeBron's Pippen...

Crawford is the type of player that looks good on a bad team and bad on a good team...

I don't mind him as a super-sub, but no way is he a #2 option on a contender or a good fit next to LeBron...

And I think we can get a better piece for Wally and his contract than Crawford...

walsh came out and said he MUST have Eric Gordan from the clippers if they want Randolf

Not that I completely disagree with you but I wouldn't be so sure of that considering he has never been on a good team. The best his teams have ever gotten is 33 wins. Is it a reflection on him? I don't know, it takes more than one player to make a team stink but his ability to put the ball in the hole is hard to deny. I'm not crazy about the bad team big number argument. This is still the NBA and if you have ever played basketball you should know that it is hard to put the ball in the hole when you have incapable teammates. I always played a heck of a lot better when my teammates were fundamentally sound.

He is not the greatest shooter though which concerns me and is very streaky a la Larry Hughes but he does have big game potential (I think he had 52 one game last season). I would trust him in the clutch though that's for sure. Inconsistent in a go to (number 1 option) role but we wouldn't need him for that. Another guy you take a chance on and hope some structure and the ability to play with a phenomenal talent prevails. Much less of a headcase. I am leary about using Wallys contract without getting All-Star quality talent though.

I'm not saying he has, I'm just saying that I see that type of player in him... A guy who will look pretty good with poor talent around him because he is a talented guy, but when you put him on a real good team, he doesn't look like that guy you thought he was... Sort of an allusion type player I guess, is the best way that I perceive him...

That's fine but I don't see Crawford as a guy who is a guy who is "fundamentally" sound and really helps out his teammates... I see him as a 1-on-1 scorer, plain and simple.

You're right he has big game potential but that big game potential rarely ever came out.. For every "big game" he had, he had probably twice the amount of low teen and single digit games...

And on top of that, like Larry, he needs a high amount of shots to put a lot of points on the board.. He had the 2nd lowest field goal % amongst the top 30 scorers last year... Not only that but was at the top of the board when it came to minutes needed to hit 20+ points...

I would trust him in the clutch though that's for sure.

Well according to 82games.com, he was 48th in the NBA in production during "Super Clutch" time..

Even though he was in the top 15 in 4th quarter scoring last year, he was one of the worst field goal % shooters in the top 50 or so...

Not only that but his worst stats (not by much, but noticeable) came against good teams, while his best stats came against poor teams...

He's a decent 4th quarter option but I wouldn't say he's a clutch player...

I am leary about using Wallys contract without getting All-Star quality talent though.

Same here... I'd rather get something I'm WAY more comfortable with than Crawford... There's no need to settle for him when we can potentially get a MUCH better return for Wally... Not only that but if he increases his play, his value could rise...

Id trade Wall-E for Crawford

Crawford has never met a shot he doesn't like! And..hmm...sounds like the guy we'd be trading to get him :weirdo:

Unless throughout his career he has clearly proven he can get to the free throw line substantially more often than Szczerbiak, which he hasn't, I really dont see the point of this :dunno:

PEOPLE NEED TO STOP WITH THIS PIPPEN CRAP. STOP IT!!!!!

like split said, crawford was never on a good team. SO TELL ME HOW TO HELL YOU KNOW THAT HE IS ONLY GOOD ON BAD TEAMS. COMMON TELL ME.
( sry for the caps, but that really ticks me off when people make stupid comments like that)

crawford can shoot the 3, drive, pass, finish, Im not completely sure on his def, but considering nobody on the knicks can play def Im not going to judge him yet. He is a real idea that can help are team. Im not saying that if we get him its a lock for us to win it all, Im saying he can help alot.

crawford was the only playmaker on the knicks, so he had to take alot of shots and do to much. lebron will give crawford alot more open shots. That will take alot of pressure off of crawford, and just let him do his game. Which is to make things happen.

kinda reminds you of lebron last season when he was forced to take alot of shots out of his game. (not comparing lebron and crawford, but just the way they were forced to play)
