Knicks want Wally

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stop bringing in drama and being a bigot of sorts and people won't bother with you guy. It is juvenile, nobody wants to hear your problems with others. We're here to talk about the Cavs and I don't feel like having this Cavs.com busch league business going on.

Thank you!!! Thats what I was doing until that kid started insulting me because I said crawford could learn to drive more playing with lebron.

Everybody wants redd, MJ, baron, bill russell, Gotta look at real ideas here.

Redd IS realistic when its 30 games into the season and Milwaukee is still a .500 team. I seriously doubt the Mo/Redd/RJ combo is even remotely better then the Kidd/VC/RJ combo, in fact the Nets team was much better in my book.

Anyways, there is no one on the Knicks I would want, I think Wally's expiring will be more valuable during the year then any of these players right now. Unless we can do a three team deal with someone else that wants one of these Knick players then I don't really want to deal with them.

well ya, because are expirings look great to those teams that are out of it. But right now, redd is going nowhere. I agree i dont see the bucks doing much. But they feel different.

you also gotta think even if redd is on the block, another team could give up alot more. Like the lakers could give up lamar/expiring for redd or whatever. (just example)

As I've pointed out this whole Crawford tangent is bogus because the Knicks want to add perimeter shooting via Wally, not subtract it by taking away Crawford.

I agree and add we are better with Wally at sg than anyone the Knicks can give us. Dantoni recognizes this and thus wants wally himself. I think we are underestimating wally a bit. This is the only other player besides z or lebron to make an allstar game for his offensive skills on our roster. He might not be the player he once was, but he definetley is not the garbage currently sitting on the knicks roster.

Yea, as much as I was cursing Wally during the Celtic series, I believe he can start for us next year and be effective. His value will go up as time goes, we should be able to easily package him with AV for a legit #2.

I do see wally playing alot better for us. His track record is pretty darn good. crawford is just really fun to watch and as a season ticket holder, thats what I want. also 20pts a game could be nice. But if wally comebacks to his old self, that would be great. He is one of the best shooters in the NBA. 40% 3pt shooter.

I'll clean it up if you tell that smooth guy to not misquote people, and cut off sentences so it looks like I said something different. clean that up first.

If you don't like what he is saying, don't respond. Your posts are unbearable to read, they are so incoherent it is worth just putting you on ignore.

Back to the topic....

Excitement as a ticket holder is a great thing but practicality and getting the Championship quality personnel takes precedence in the long run. If we have to wait for it then so be it but I'm not convinced anymore that Ferry is in panic mode at this point. He has this season and next to become a contender. Barring catastrophic injuries, we are poised to do a whole lot better during the season than last.

Avoiding a holdout situation with Boobie and West is vital because we need all of these guys (ESPECIALLY West, Boobie, and Andy) to be on the same page with a full training camp under their belts. Having an erratic personnel flow like Brown had last year due to injuries is not just a hinderence on the coach but also a horrible situation for the players. We like to get on these guys for under performing yet give Mike Brown a pass because of the injuries, but having so many different lineups is even more of a problem for a young guy trying to find his place on the team. I see that problem being rectified this season. If at the deadline we could add that one guy to put us over the top, they will be walking into a much more stable situation than Wallace and crew did last season.

My main concern is the system and the fact that it has been made very clear that there will be even more of a defensive focus this season. I am in the camp that believes they don't have to be mutually exclusive of each other but the Front Office seems to believe otherwise. I would feel a whole lot better going into next season if I had some reassurance that I wouldn't be watching another entire season of ineptitude on that side of the court. Healthy personnel should help but we still have major cracks in the foundation.

The FO offense doesn't believe offense and defense are mutually exclusive, quite the opposite. They believe great defense leads to offense. ;)

Ya which I don't agree with at all. You still need guys who can score. look at the spurs, They lean on def, but still they got 3 guys who can score 20-30pts whenever. The cavs got 1 guy who can do that.

So true. Now....can anyone get this into Mike Brown's brain?

To a certain point I agree with you, but hey only had 4 different people score 20 or points for them last season

Ginabli 35 times
Duncan 43 times
Parker 32 times
Finley 5 times

now for the cavs they had 5 different players who are currently on the roster score 20 points or more.

Lebron 70 times
z 16 times
Gibson 5 times
West 3/13 times in the playoffs for 82 game equivelant 19 games
Wally 1/13 times in the playoffs for 82 game equivelant 6 games

We forget for his 9 year career wally has averaged 17.5 or more points a game in 4 seasons, almost half. Gibson when health is always a 20 point threat. Z is always a threat to go off for 20 points. Surpisingly west seems to be pretty profficient at socring 20 points once he we got our rotation together, and Lebron can almost be pencilled in for a gurenteed 20 points. I think if mb uses a better rotation and we stay healthy, we can become a much better offensive team than we showed last year with this current roster.

You make it sound like SA had 3 people a night go off for 20 points, when reality is they had 115 20 point games. Lebron by himself had 70 (i am not counting players who are no longer on the teams, but assuming gibson and west return) If anyone of the players I mentioned take turns scoring 50 points, we could easily have 140-150 20 point games. SA does not have an advantage there by any means.

Where their advantage is balance. 3 players average around 19 points, one 1t 10. We can combat this by Lebrons 30, and 4 players average 10-15. (z, west, wally, gibson) for equal balance.

point his, def leads to offence for certain teams that have those type players. cavs right now don't.

Yes, the Spurs do have multiple scorers nightly, what they don't have are players like Jamal Crawford, and that is by design.. You rarely ever here about the Spurs associating with those types of players, and there's a reason for that...There's been examples of it in the past, like when the Lakers took a flyer on Iasiah Rider or when the Bulls took a chance with Ron Mercer etc...

The closest thing I have heard regarding the Spurs taking on a player like that is a couple years ago when they had some interest in JR Smith, but ultimately was not to enamored with him to make a substantial offer...

The Spurs two other all stars are guys that they chose later in the draft... Parker was the last pick in round 1 of the 01 draft, and Ginobili was the last pick in the entire 1999 draft, and they didn't even bring him over for 3 years..

The Knicks would love to move Crawford and/or Randolph, and there's a reason why teams (especially the contenders) aren't beating down their door to get these guys...

They have poor basketball IQ's and don't play winning team basketball...
