We are comparing a PG who has hardly played over two years due to serious injuries vs. a PG who has yet to put it all together but has shown flashes of being one of the best PG's in the NBA. Cool story breh!

The real story is why are we discussing who is better? It doesn't matter. Lebron is on our team.

The story that should be discussed is will Rose stay healthy all year? I don't see that happening.

Even with a healthy Rose, are we really scared of the Chicago Bulls? I mean there is a whole other thread dedicated to a potential series against them. Are we all suffering from amnesia here? We won 66 games with fucking Mo Williams as our 2nd option. We played the Bulls, pre-Rose injury, and they had a better roster then they do now. We won that series 4-1. Is this just conventional Cleveland paranoia?

Kyrie is going to be studly this year. Book it. You know why? We have Love and Lebron.

Didn't look too bad... Landed on his hip. Looked like he went to the locker room. Walked off with his own strength.

He'll probably be a little sore. But that's about it.

It's annoying he has to play so much because derrick rose is playing like absolute trash right now. But meh.

Am I wrong? Why is Rose the only athlete who is coming back from one of these injuries a total shell of himself? Why is he the only one who refused to come back for months after he was medically cleared? If it's not mental, then what is it that's keeping him from being able to play basketball when so many other players have come back from similar injuries? He looks like the guys from Space Jam who had their talent stolen right now.

Actually it reminds me a bit of Gilbert Arenas. He didn't sit out when being cleared, but when he came back after his injuries he was nowhere near the player he was. When the Cavs-Wizards "rivalry" began Arenas always had the Wizards in the game on his talent alone. At many times he was completely unstoppable and put up incredible numbers.

When we played them in the playoffs the first year:
34 PPG, 46.4% FG, 43% 3PT 5.5 AST 2.2 ST

Just awesome. But then year after year, injury after injury, he was a complete shell of his former self. The drop off was unreal. He came back the next year in time for the playoffs, played 4 games, started 2:
10.8 PPG 38.9% FG 41% 3PT 2.8 AST 0.5 ST

He bounced back somewhat decently in the regular season the following year, looking like he might finally be returning to his former self, but then had another season ending injury. And then continued to decline at an even worse pace after he went to Orlando and Memphis. He never came close to the player he was before.

For the sake of competition, I don't want to see the same drop off for Derrick Rose. Despite him playing for the Bulls, I really like the guy. But I highly doubt he'll ever be in the conversation for MVP or even in the discussion for the top 3 or 5 best PGs in the game anymore. Just don't think he'll ever bounce back.

Wow I'm so pissed right now. Please leave this sh*t team, Kyrie.
I mean it's ridiculous Kyrie has to play in garbage time because our back up point guard is on a maintenance program and you can't stress him too much...disgusting!!!

Really? It seems a lot of athletes just never get to where they were after these type of injuries. Castor77 pointed out Agent 0 but you can also think of guys like TMac and Amare who just never were the same. Maybe it's mental but I think in this the more charitable assessment is more likely to be true: he's just not back to where he was athletically.

Really pissed at Coach K right now.

pretty hard fall...damn

I hope Kyrie doesnt play anymore. He got the benefit of practicing all summer with Team USA which will help his game. Playing in a meaningless tournament just meant to get FIBA rich isn't worth it when there is a title run about to begin.
