John Wall has been to the playoffs and would be a great veteran presence to have on the team. He's been there before. Kyrie hasn't.

John Wall didn't make the playoffs until his 4th year in the league. Kyrie just finished his 3rd season. There's a difference between fielding offers on a player and shopping said player. You're preemptively shopping Kyrie for no reason. We're not in a situation where we need to be looking to trade him.

We need veteran leadership on this team. No two ways about it man.

i'd rather trade kyrie and build around our budding superstar dion waiters. he's the next dwade and has grown immensely as a basketball player.. you can see it in the stats! trust me! trade the and-one streetballer wanna be!

john wall is the better athlete than kyrie thus he has a higher ceiling.. i wouldnt mind a wall-waiter backcourt with wiggins at the 3. defense and speed!

For the love of God someone shut down this thread. It's infected and we need to quarantine it... That's how sick this thread is. We got people wanting to trade Kyrie for a couple mediocre role players and people claiming Alec Burke is the next Lillard.

Some people simply don't know basketball. Why would trade a 21 year old All-Star? You can't replace that type of talent, especially since we are a small market team.

Again, I've heard from several people, we are offering Kyrie the max contract and we will not trade him.

Kyrie and Dion for Wall and Beal. Otherwise, I take my chances with Kyrie. He's here 2 more years guaranteed. If we win next year, that goes a long way.

BECAUSE HE SULKS AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFFFFFFFFFS!

he's not a winner, leader.. cant play defense.. too much iso.. gets in the way of the offense. inefficient. chucker. uncoachable. not athletic. too much style no substance. dribbles too much. not a point guard. cant initiate the offense. bad attitude. never won anything only at glorified pick up games.

Because there are rumors that he doesn't want to be here?

From everything we've heard, the Cavs actually aren't opposed to trading him for the right deal. We're fielding calls on him. And we're still mulling over whether to offer him a max contract or not.

We should get Rondo...you know a great defensive point guard that has lead his team to the playoffs and beyond after KG left the team...oh wait.

But we're looking to be in the situation Rondo had before KG and PP left, not when the Celtics were left devoid of other talent. One of the intriguing things about Rondo is that he proved he could be a PG for a team with a bunch of other scoring stars, and make it all work at a championship level. Obviously, he lacks the offensive potential and ceiling of Irving. On the other hand, he gives you much better defense, better distributing abilities, and a veteran presence. I think you'd need to get back more than just Rondo, but I don't think the underlying concept is ridiculous.

FWIW, I'm not picking on Kyrie. I'd consider moving anyone if the end result of the player movement and draft is a better fit and more competitive team.

some stupid ideas in the past few pages

naaahh.. kyrie caused the firing of 2 coaches already in his short 3 year career. trade this cancer to the highest bidder..

I'm sure none of those had anything to do with ineptitude of talent around him?

So let's trade him for Alec Burks and Enes Kanter!

Jesus, man. It's not even that they're poor criticisms, it's that you're choosing to ignore the overwhelming amount of good.

Yes, Kyrie can use some veteran leadership. Doesn't mean you trade KYRIE! You trade other guys to get him.

He is not LeBron, he is not going to single-handedly propel the Cavs into the playoffs. Give Kyrie help. We have the best pick in the best draft in the past decade or so. You help Kyrie, not trade him away.

Some of these "trades" are asinine. This reminds me of a locked thread in the trades/draft section of the board. Absolutely terrible. I know it's the summer, and things are a little crazy with the draft, coaching search, Kyrie max contract coming up - but seriously, have some pride and step your game up.

Please.
