Just an opinion, the more talent the Cavs provided Kyrie with, the more selfish he became with the ball.

................ Actually he set Hawes up a lot, because Kyrie actually had a guy to space the floor and he could penetrate and get Hawes open looks. I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree with those opinions.

Kyrie has proven himself as a two time all-star at the age of 22....

only cause he plays in Cleveland. much harder for a 37 game starter in Utah to get the recognition he deserves

but Kanter has proven himself as a great starter in the NBA.

The fact he didn't start every game he played with a dreadful Utah team is being spun into a good thing?

Kanter's not bad, he's still only 22 and looks like he'll develop into a useful player. But saying he's "proven him as a great starter" is just ridiculous. He's not an efficient player on offense and he's not a great defensive presence, especially considering his position.

No, no, he's pretty good on offense. The problem with him is that Corbin couldn't ever keep him on the court because he was a liability on defense. That's why he lost his starting job and why his minutes were so sporadic. I think he was the worst defender on that team.

this doesnt make any sense.. kanter was drafted before Tristan Thompson

Rofl. He's not even trolling. It's obvious sarcasm just flying right over heads.

The only trade for Irving I would consider would offer two lottery picks, like from Orlando so those can be turned into elite prospects in a deep draft or used to get the #2 pick to draft Wiggins.

Like I really don't think Milwaukee even thinks that a single Wiggins/Embiid/Parker is enough to make them competitive again as they jettisoned most of their talent that got them to the playoffs. So if we could get both of Orlando's picks for Irving and then send them to Milwaukee they would take that trade. With the amount of young talent on our team already Embiid and/or Wiggins alone makes a huge difference, with both we can get a FA to come in to finish it up. With Milwaukee they can get a possible combo of Exum and Gordon for them.

pinoycavsfan, to be brutally blunt... you have the dumbest trade ideas I have read on this forum since Heath

there is no way, with a sane and healthy mind, that you honestly believe the Cavs are better off with those trade abortions you have proposed

If you combined this draft with the last three drafts, the top 5 players would be Irving/Davis/Embiid/Wiggins/Parker in some order and the gap between those 5 and the 6th guy is pretty big.

We already have one and get our pick from 3 of the other 4. Why would we trade the only one of those 5 who is an established 2x all star for a chance to take two guys not even on that list. Trading a young established all star for two lesser players never works out for the team that trades away their all star. Look at the thunder, Harden wasn't even an all star at the time. Yet trading him for a bunch of assets the summer after they were in the NBA finals has likely cost them two trips to the finals.

So first we spend a few years complaining how we have no true all-star top 10 talent. Then we draft him and watch him develop and complain that we need to get him another all-star talent. Now for some reason we have completed the circle and are trying to engineer a way to trade him for pennies on the dollar? Wow. If you're that into future draft picks, just follow the Browns.

KI has his flaws but some people are acting like he's not good enough for Cleveland which is absurd. Give him an extension, draft Embiid, and see what happens. Players like KI will always bring back decent assets in a trade even with a max contract. So why not keep our all-star and build around him? At least for a year with a new coach and front office.

Because some of us are getting too damn old to wait for someone to "get it" and have seen too many people (in life as well as sports) who have all the talent in the world but can't turn that talent into production.

There seems to be a growing mentality that greatness is conferred based upon "potential". Way back in the old days (Cable TV had only 36 channels kids!), it was earned.

Now put down those vidya games and go play outside ya whippersnappers.

Way back in the old days (3 channels and the national anthem at 11:00 PM kids!), it was really earned.
