Kyrie Irving

I may have missed it, was he warmly greeted at the baseball game?

Windy seemed to dramatically change his tune regarding the Cavs at some point this past season, where he now routinely bad mouths them. I think Jason Lloyd also changed his tune, and notice some of the local radio talking heads have suddenly joined in the venom. Was it because of the Grant firing? Was Grant a source for many, including Windy and Jason?

Anyway, remember who wrote those stories and let's discuss their credibility when the Cavs offers Kyrie the max and Kyrie accepts, all in less than a month (unless holding off would benefit some possible sign and trades, free agent signings, etc. from a cap perspective).

[I don't remember a non playoff team generating such national negative press unless, of course, it's done as a preemptive strike to try to deter James' return here].

I just listened to Woj on XM and I expected him to really bad mouth the organization but he really didn't. He didnt think Lequit was coming because the players are too young but he didnt say that the organization was run by a psychopath like that idiot Goldhammer did. He said that if they traded the number 1 pick for a superstar and Lequit and Miami were not seeing eye to eye there might be a chance. Gotta wonder whether there is something more to the negative perception of the team from specifically Windy and Lloyd ie is Grant sabotaging it and whereas the others' source was Grant, Woj's source is Gilbert or our new GM.

I heard the Indians havent said anything about Kyrie since that game

Like I said earlier, everything Windhorst says is not a fact. People treat him like a god in here, he can be wrong a couple times, just like every other sports writer/insider who tries to predict people. Just because he thinks something or says something, doesn't mean it's the truth.

Right and the only Info I even sort of trust him with anymore Is LeBron. He Is becoming a part of the evil machine that Is ESPN.

As far as I'm concerned, he is now a puppet for ESPN. He may provide useful information on the side in radio talks and what not, but he has producers that control MOST of his content. And he's not going to contradict the general message they want him to give. I wouldn't either if I were him. There's no such thing as journalistic integrity--just entertainment news.

Hold up, Windhorst can be dead right about Irving wanting out and that still doesn't mean he'll actually get out.

Well sure. Or, he could just be wrong. The fact of the matter is that he works for ESPN which comes with obvious baggage.

You mean since 24 hours ago when he threw out the first pitch? What the fuck are they supposed to say?

I wonder if Francona talked about how he used to coach Michael Jordan when Kyrie met him. :chuckles:

Comment From Nick
Any update on Kyrie's contract? Is there a timetable for him to sign/decline it?

Sam The Bullshit Whisperer: No. Cavs won't even worry about that until July. He doesn't have to sign or decline it until like the end of October.
