Depends on if theres an early out option

Spooner's tweet was retweeted into my timeline by Dennis Manoloff of the PD. I'm guessing he wouldn't retweet it if he thought it unreliable, but perhaps I'm wrong. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I actually know Manoloff and think he is really bright. But he did retweet the Carmelo to Cavs thing awhile ago...

Really happy with this. I am one of the people who really is not a fan of his personally and don't/didn't care for his attitude, however I am very pleased where this is all headed and can't wait to see what Kyrie and the rest of the team can do with Coach Blatt.

Maybe people can believe what Kyrie says about how he loves Cleveland now... He only said it 20 times the last month of the season. And the sad thing is, he gave us no reason to not believe him.

It might be nice, for a change, if every story like this wasn't followed immediately by a bunch of posters gloating that they were right.

He's obviously going to sign it and then immediately command he's traded to LA.

Lakers and Knicks fans actually thought they were going to get Kyrie :chuckles: Had him photo-shopped in their team's jersey and everything. Try again in 2020.

I have no reason to believe Kyrie ever had any ill feelings towards the city of Cleveland itself, but I certainly believe he wasn't too happy with the coach, the organization, and the teammates around him this year...hence all the reported grumblings. But I think David Blatt and the roster reshaping by Griffin go a long way to addressing these issues, so there's no long-term concern.

But at the end of the day, all of this was irrelevant regardless. Even at the height of the "Kyrie wants out" freak out, most of us thought he'd sign a max extension with us regardless, if we offered it. There was just too much money he would have left on the table to not accept it, especially for someone with Kyrie's injury history.

If anything, I would have been disturbed if he was totally happy playing for a dysfunctional team that was going nowhere with goobers like Bynum, Clark, Jack, and Gee playing major roles.

He doesn't love Cleveland, he loves the max money. I'm not hating on Kyrie; he's our best player--just don't think he loves it here and won't voice his displeasure if we don't improve significantly.

Give me a break, he could make max money anywhere my friend. Quit trying to find something to criticize him about or make something up about him that isn't true. He could make the max in LA, he could make the max in NY. Just enjoy this signing and how our team is moving in a positive direction and is having a wonderful off-season.

Irving and Gilbert take so much shit from a part of this fanbase. Just don't get it. Go root for whatever team lebron plays for if you hate the owner and star player so much.
