Someone clarify the rose rule?

Named to the All-NBA First, Second or Third team at least twice (Already cannot get)
Voted as a starter in the All-Star game at least twice
Named the NBA Most Valuable Player at least once

Any of these 3. If Rose comes back, I expect him to get the start over Kyrie. Everyone vote for DRose this year.

IIRC, Kyrie would have to be voted to be an All-Star Starter two years or make an All-NBA team.

The All-NBA team ship has sailed, as he would have to make two of them and he hasn't made one yet.

The All-Star starter one is still absolutely a possibility, although after the bad year the Cavs had last year Kyrie's hype may be lower than it was going into last season.

He could also be voted league MVP, but that's obviously a long-shot.

He's also reigning all star game MVP which alone should give him a reasonable chance of again starting the ASG. Most of the fans didn't actually our team struggle last year. As all star game MVP is probably an automatic pick for many west coast fans filling out their vote for the east.

That's a good point. I think what it all comes down to is whether or not Rose is healthy next year. If he is, I think he'll get the nod over Kyrie.

even if he does, Kyrie could still beat out Wade.

Rose could certainly get the nod; however, he has a ton of rust to shake.

It's definitely possible, but I kind of doubt it if the superfriends stay together.

Also true, but he has the benefit of playing in an absolutely huge market, which will help him pull in the votes.

Don't underestimate name recognition in the fan vote. T-Mac killed the vote back in 2010 and only had played in a couple games all season due to injury.

Kyrie swingman jerseys are on sale so to commemorate the occasion I went and bought my first active player jersey since Lebron was here. Thanks to the extension I felt like it is a safe investment.

I'm pretty sure Kyrie has some name recognition factor going for him after winning the All-Star game MVP last year :chuckles:

That was not due to name recognition, it was because of Yao being his teammate.

This guy....what an idiot. Does he not realize that Melo had the leverage to get the trade because his Free Agency was approaching in under 2 years?
The statement he makes on Kyrie could be applied to EVERY player in the NBA
