Besides the fact the I'm sure he's earning it on the court, I really doubt he doesn't make it given that Nike will be pushing for him to make it, the Duke connection with coach K and the fact that I'm sure promises were made in order to get him to play with Team USA and not team Australia.
 
How about this number:

0

=number of players in the world who can guard Kyrie Irving. He's made highlight reels out of everyone from Curry to Lebron to AD to Howard.

Be careful though, some might argue that Kyrie Irving can also guard that same amount of people :chuckles:

How many meaningful games has he played in?

Would you have rather he throw his body around the last 3 years for an extra 5 or 6 wins?

What's more important and valuable- unstoppable offense or great defense?

He was joking. With that being said, I would say being unstoppable on offense and proficient on defense is more valuable.

Everyone else save for KD and Lebron (and Westbrook in that one game vs the Spurs) are only unstoppable until they're stopped.

You disagree while conveniently ignoring the argument. Do you honestly believe that Kyrie's offensive impact offsets the horrible team defense whenever he's on the floor? Shouldn't a team's greatest player make the greatest impact?

Like Battier or Bowen, Varejao's impact isn't in the box score, so fans tend to support the guy who fills it up. His defensive contributions go ignored, while Kyrie's inefficient offensive contributions get put on a pedestal. Varejao's a poor man's Noah. If he could play Noah's minutes, he'd be a rich man's Noah. And the last time I checked, Noah's twice the player Irving is.

Correct. They're both elite, contrary to what some choose to believe.
 
Question: has another team ever tried to press the cavs when kyrie was on the court?

I don't think anyone has even attempted to (granted, teams were rarely trailing against us) and I think being able to completely negate that strategy will be very valuable as we move into contention.
