He had his usual game. K-Love did as well, although he should have taken more shots. LeBron was the only one who came nowhere near close to play the way he normally does.

So LeBron is our only anchor?

Maybe we should rethink this team. :chuckle:

I'm happy for the embarrassment personally... This is the kind of thing you go through in an NBA season only it happened right out of the gate for us.

Good.

Let's get it on.

Kyrie worked hard today, grabbed some boards, made some great passes hit some typical kyrie shots.

Also got lost on help rotations and gets killed by screens. Those are the things to judge his progress this year on IMHO

He stopped the ball on offense and did what he does, pounded the ball. He wasn't invisible on defense at least, and he did shoot well. He wasn't the most egregious ball stopper either, so there's that. Kyrie wasn't the reason we lost.

Mostly agree. He definitely didn't get up and down the floor as fast as he should have. He made a few really dumb plays with the ball. Still way to much dribbling. Make a move or make a pass...
Defense was not terrible but he and the other wings really stalled our offense.

Kyrie is magic on the bounce. But boy does he like to bounce it. That 2 on 1 that he and LeBron had off the deflection was downright horrible. LeBron was streaking down the wing without a defender in front of him and Kyrie took two dribbles and covered half the court by the time he gave it up. He got fouled on the pass and a LBJ 1 on 0 ended up without a touch.

His first inclination is always to dribble and go. He needs to improve his court awareness on the fly.

I didn't think Kyrie played that well to be honest. I know he filled up the stat sheet, but his defense was horrendous, he still dribbles too damn much, and took some bad shots down the stretch.

I realized, the adjustment he will have to make playing with LeBron will be the hardest.

I thought he played good defense. Also, Kyrie should have had the ball MORE imo. He did not "dribble the ball too much", I think you're talking about lebron here. His outside shot wasn't falling but that was just about it with him. I honestly think Kyrie's in for an mvp campaign.

You have to be a versatile player in order to be an MVP candidate. Kyrie is just a scoring PG who needs a lot of shots to be effective. LeBron and Love are going to be legit MVP candidates. They bring more to the table and have bigger impacts.

Eh, no. Kyrie irving IS versatility. Kyrie irving is the best player on this team. I want him being the one taking charge of this team. In the 4th quarter w the game on the line I don't even want lebron on the court honestly. Just put it in Kyrie's hands and let him go to work. The dude is an artist with a basketball.

And idk where the hell you're coming from with "kyrie is just a scoring point guard who needs a lot of shots to be effective". That is just way off base.

I love Kyrie, but it's clear that you know absolutely nothing about the game of basketball. Please stop.

For someone so determined to look moronic on this forum, you sure are determined to keep posting here. Have fun until you're banned again :)

Banned for what? Am I doing something wrong?
Being unnecessarily confrontational, posting things like "K" which adds nothing substantial to the discussion whatsoever.

All in all, I didn't see anything from Kyrie last night that overly bothered me. He was playing with increased effort.
