Kyrie got completely destroyed tonight, and most of the action is in the other threads?

:cha (63):

Cavs have a lot of players who are going ISO when the going gets tough. I'm not saying Kyrie is the only one but he is one of them.

He was chucking really bad, I'm not to worried but the offense starts out good then reverts to ISO ball.

Looked like a High School kid going against a Hall of Fame player tonight.

This team could really use a veteran guard to mentor and run an offense.

He sucked tonight, no nicer way of putting it. But as LeBron continuously reminds us, him being the leader of the team it would've been nice for LeBron to notice that Lillard is torching Kyrie and that he doesn't have it tonight and try to actually start getting more agressive offensively. Instead I watched an entire game of LeBron coming across as passive and indifferent, Kyrie not being able hit the broad side of a barn, and a team overall playing miserable defense. I guess there is always tomorrow.

He's infatuated with his own ability to dribble. Still under the impression that the NBA and Street Ball are largely the same thing and the things you can do at Rucker will also work in an NBA game.

So he's basically trying to make every plays look like highlight reels instead of running simple plays within the offense and being a good floor general. Is that what you're trying to say?

Those end of quarter plays were brutal. Heaved a 3 that was 2 feet behind the line with plenty of time to end the half. Then tried a behind the back pass to no one to end the third. We were well within striking distance and those were awful.

It almost seems a setup for these guards: ok you think your all that prove it against teams that are actually circulating playing you on the calendar? Prove it. Don't know but this an awfully convenient way to prove what the hierarchy needs to be

Don't worry people, im sure he'll play great vs a bottom feeding Jazz team and a young Trey Burke. Its when he plays a good physical team he shits his pants. We've seen it over the course of his career thus far

The guards who Irving beat out during Team USA are coming at him hard - Rose and Lillard, seems like they both came out with something to prove in all of the games against Irving.

He has to step up to the challenge.

I don't even think it has anything to do with the World Cup to be honest. It's because he's soft and ultra competitive guys like Rose and Lillard can sense it. Its no coincidence Lillard was dominated these last couple games by Westbrook and Curry and all of a sudden he goes off against Kyrie. Lillard has made it his personal mission to destroy Kyrie since last year and its because he can go at him and he knows, we all know, Irving wont do a damn thing about it

There was a point in the 3rd qt where Lebron kept passing to Waiters and Kyrie for them to iso, time after time after time. There is no way a guy with the basketball i.q of lebron would do that purposedly if he wanted to win. It's like he let them get exposed so that they can understand that the iso hero ball they were used to play will not take this team forward. Even if he's not 100% ready, he still would effect the game by being the mind and playmaker of the team.

Let's trade Kyrie and TT for Westbrook and Adams,
It's a joke (or not)
we just need a fast penetrator and not an iso guy
(joke or not)

I'd say that's probably what is going on. And I'm ok with that. I'll take early season losses if it breaks Kyrie of his bad habits down the road. Lloyd quoted LBJ tonight saying "A lot of bad habits have been built up over the last couple of yrs. When you play that style, it takes a lot to get it out of you."

I'd honestly say that's part of the reason he went into super passive mode in the second half. It was sort of a message to Kyrie.

Now I think of it you may have a point. After that 1st quarter the ball movement stopped and you can see Lebrons body language change. It was almost as if he was saying "here you get the ball and do whatever the hell you want with it. Im not going to bail you out".
