Glad you can tell all of that from simple box scores!
just because I posted a quantifiable statistic showing how eerily similar their production actually is doesnt mean it ends there.

they both need the ball in their hands to be anything remotely above ordinary players (kyrie obviously excels more than dion but I posted the 5% difference to go along with why I believe theyre practically the same player: they play the exact same except statistically kyrie is literally only 5% better), don't put effort in on the defensive end, aren't good enough to be game changers in their roles (which are the same: scoring production and basically nothing else), and just are not, by any means, looking to get their teammates involved in games. They take the ball, they shoot the ball. Kyrie just dribbles more first and can make layups. I was going to leave out 'gets to the line and hits ft's' so the overall efficiency angle is taken away from the argument, but fuck it. He's scoring about a point a shot in the last 15 games or so I believe.

The only thing they are good at is creating for themselves, which limits the rest of the team (due to their tunnel vision and sole priority of creating for themselves), and Kyrie is marginally more efficient. I dont see how you can argue this.

difference between kyrie and dion is better dribbling skills and converting at about 5% better of a clip.

sorry. They're the same player.

And then Kyrie gets to the line at much higher rate and converts at a much higher rate. Even if they have the same strengths, Kyrie is a lot stronger in those areas than is Dion.

which is why I initially left out the freethrow comment, but even WITH it in the conversation, kyrie's efficiency is Dwaiters-esque since November

Kyrie:

December 1.2pts/fga January 1pt/fga.

Dion:

December 1.1pt/fga January 1pt/fga.

This is nowhere near significantly better than Dion Waiters to make me feel comfortable. Its marginally better, and outside of his offense Kyrie is worthless.

Shit go ahead and factor in assists and turnovers per 36, theyre all almost identical.

Why in Gods name are we still talking about Dion

Some of you are not interested in injuries as you view them as excuses. Understood.

There is evidence Kyrie is gutting it out with multiple injuries.

Maybe if he avoids continuously sitting and heads down to Miami to experience warm weather for a little bit he would feel better?

If he's going to play through these "injuries" and stink up the joint like he did against the suns then fine by me. Disappear for a while. How he played last game better be the worst game of the season for him. Funny I've said that before

Playing through the injuries is more than he has done every other year where he would just miss big chunks of games, but I am just kind of over him and his injuries.

Playing hurt or not playing at all, it is always something with Kyrie it seems.

I tried arguing the whole "Kyrie is not an overall good basketball player" for at least the last 2 years. He convinced me with his play at the beginning of this season but he has dropped off considerably the last 9 games or more.

This dude's lunch will be stolen in playoff basketball. He is clueless on both ends of floor. He only knows AAU and he has habits that are almost impossible to break without completely rearranging the way he perceives the game. I want to believe he can but maybe he just doesn't have the motor to do it?

He's a vet now and has shown no real improvement on the fundamental side of things. I believe he can do it but... I haven't seen it.

I don't know if you can teach the "feel" for the game. That's gotta come from him.

When Kyrie completed a pass in the paint I had tears in my eyes, had to rewind a couple times given how shocked I was.

It looked so natural. He even convinced me he does it on the regular

It was a nice pass, but even Melo makes one of those great on-point eye-catching passes every once in awhile.Kyrie needs to get more comfortable at doing and starts reading plays better, then he'll get more comfortable as a play-maker.

I think this was something we needed to see from Kyrie. Teams wont respect his passing and key on him and force him into hero ball. If he can show that passing ability his game will open up more than he knows.
