Steph is very good... like his game.. is a great shooter... he has no where near the handles or ability to finish around the rim like Kyrie though.. IMO Kyrie is a very good shooter...Steph is probably better but it is pretty damn close at times...Steph is very good though...not many flaws in his game
No way man. Curry is out of this world as a shooter. He's likely the best shooter of all time and has a TS percentage of right under 63% while flirting with a 50/40/90 this season. Kyrie is a great shooter, but defenders can't even give Curry a foot of space or he'll make them pay.

To put things into perspective, Curry is on pace to become the only player in NBA history who has ever shot as many threes as he does (8.0 per game) while maintaining a TS percentage above 62% (Curry's is 62.7%) in a single season. Also the only player in NBA history to shoot that many threes and convert them at that high of a rate (.419 3P percentage).

Is it crazy to possibly put Kyrie in the MVP discussion?

Or, wait a couple of years to put him in that discussion?

-Kyrie's handles are certainly better than Curry's
-I dont need stats to tell me Kyrie is better at attacking the rim. Kyrie relentlessly attacks the rim ala prime Wade while Curry only picks and chooses when to attack. Those at rim percentages mean absolutely nothing to me after you use them in context.
-I don't remember Curry leading his team to jack shit until you surrounded him with a squad full of fringe all stars(Lee,Iggy,Klay) and even then he ,like Kyrie, didnt sniff a post season until his 4th year.
-Curry is without a doubt a more consistent /better shooter than Kyrie
-Curry is a much better facilitator than Kyrie right now
-Curry is currently a better player than Irving but its to be expected considering he's 26/27.The scary thing is its not by much and Kyrie is only about to be 23 while Curry has probably platued and will be at his current level for a few more years.
-All things considered Kyrie has more gifts than Curry so thats why he is more talented

Btw Westbrook doesn't possess one elite basketball skill. He just has all time great athleticism and an unbelievable motor. He's an average to streaky shooter with nothing special handles for a point guard

idc what the stats show, if you think Curry is a better finisher at the rim than Kyrie, you are smoking some pure blue meth

Kyrie's handles are easily the best in the league. Not even close, truthfully.

27 today. Happy birthday Steph. :)

Crawford's and Curry's are pretty close to his, in my opinion, but I would still give Kyrie the edge.

Still don't see wich area Kyrie shines over steph other than just being way, way cooler. Steph pretty much has his entire skill set but better.

Better handles better athlete better all-around scorer. He's the better player.

Come on now. Let's not go that far. Can Kyrie be better? Sure, he's 4 years younger and has room to grow. But right now Steph is the primary option on a team on pace for 65 wins, has an On-Off of +18.3, has a PER of 27.5, and is averaging 24/8/4 in just 33 minutes per game on near 50/40/90 splits. Kyrie doesn't have much of an argument yet. Keyword: yet.

I'm not going to wage into the Kyrie vs. Steph debate, but man if this isn't the same line I kept hearing when people would argue Carmelo was the best "pure scorer" in the league. Despite the fact that every meaningful stat showed LeBron was better at scoring the basketball, Carmelo still got the nod from so many analysts because he could "score in more ways." As if that mattered.

It was this same sentiment. Stats be damned, Carmelo is the better scorer!

Kyrie shouldn't even be near Steph in any facet, as Steph is 27 years old and completely developed. Kyrie is 22. If Irving makes he same level of progress Steph has made over the next 5 years, he will be right there as an MVP candidate himself. Possibly one of the greatest scorers to ever play point guard in the history of the NBA!

But a weird thing about Kyrie is that he hasn't shown that much year to year improvement. His first year was better than his second and third, and now he is better but about as much better as you would expect from having better players around him -- not transformed like players usually do over their first three years. he came in really good and he is still really good.

I think his second was probably a little better than his first. His third year was his worst year. And this year is his best by a slight margin.

He just came into the league so good and already so polished.

Yeah I'm fine with people having different opinions but saying "I don't care what the stats say, ____ is better at _____ because I said so!" is a lazy argument.

His first was the best. His 2nd year was good too before All-Star Weekend. Then he stopped caring.
