Seeing reports that kyrie WILL leave if LBJ bolts next summer that would really really suck to lose both guys

I doubt that story. If he wants to bolt, it can be assumed that he is bolting cos he wants to win. Now that gives him only 2 options:
1. The Warriors
2. The team that LEBron goes too.

Now in both the scenarios, I dont think the teams can afford his contract as they will be paying their own super teams. So realistically Cavs will be his best best at getting the max paycheck.

It's the same writer that said Butler was working his way to Cleveland then backtracked.. It's all the same 2 stories, same guy.

He's uniquely enjoyable to watch, but I would trade him straight up for the following although most of these are unrealistic:

A. Davis
Durant
Curry
Giannis
Kawhi
Butler

Some others to consider, but for THIS team, based on his contract and age, those for sure.

I'm not saying I think he is better than those players. I like watching Irving the most.

In my opinion Irving is better/younger than Curry. I think if you switched Curry and Irving last season the Cavaliers would have lost. I think Curry is better than Irving in that system. I would take Irving over Curry on most other teams. Just my homer take.

Jesus Christ losing both Kyrie and LeBron my lord.

LeBron basically singlehandedly caused the mess that we are, it would be really bad on his legacy if he left us high and dry and took Kyrie with him. The Warriors probably only have a 4-5 year window so his best chance at winning is most likely with us and Kyrie. So I cant see him really going anywhere. Note that unless he goes to the Spurs and coach Pop whatever team he goes to is going to be forced to adopt LeBron's stand and watch offense so I cant see a team you could plug him on and theyd have a better chance than us.

I think Bron retires here but if he left again it would be worse than 2010 for sure. He was basically co-GM this time with Griffin.

I do find it funny this talk comes up every year and the media always comes to the conclusion LeBron is unhappy and will leave lol

Then they say names like Lakers and im just like smh

Where is he going under contract?

I think Gilbert wants to keep him this year because if LBJ leaves NEXT year, Kyrie will be a great trade chip to start a rebuild upon.

He'll garner picks and young prospects, especially on a contract with two years left.

Kyrie is a great offensive player, but he doesn't really make others better, isn't much of a leader, and IMO isn't really a player to build a team around. He's a GREAT second guy and dynamic scorer (I'd take Clay Thompson over him as a #2), but if LBJ leaves, and they trade Love, do you really want to build a team around Kyrie or start over with assets?

That's the question...I go back and forth with it.

If Kyrie makes All-NBA over the next two years, it puts the supermax in play.

Be hard for him to pass that one up.

He will be an MVP candidate this year. Voter fatigue will be key on Durant, Curry, and to an extent Harden. I expect Kyrie and AD to have a strong case for MVP. Amazing how AD almost feels forgotten in discussions with who's the best player. With Kawhi cementing himself in the top 5 and Giannis emergence, AD missing the playoffs probably made him fade on few people.

Butler has a higher OBPM, Offensive RPM and per 100 O rating. He's not as good of a scorer, but Butler doesn't lag that far behind. Butler is less turnover prone with comparable assist output.

Kyrie is a better shooter, ball handler, playmaker, passer, and finisher than Jimmy Butler. He's also more clutch and he's younger.

He's only gotta make it once AFAIK; the year before he's up for an extension.

But, you know he'll be shooting for it now; especially seeing what happened to George.

If only he was a 5'9" media darling, maybe he'd get the votes.

Kyrie isn't even close to being MVP material... Curry, Durant, Kawhi, Harden, Westbrook, LeBron with others are all comfortably ahead. Kyrie is going to have to make a huge leap; which I guess isn't out of the question. It's just not likely.

Kyrie isn't a better playmaker. Butler has the better assists to turnover ratio with close assist output. Also, from 0-3 feet Butler is more efficient, and the guy goes to the bucket as much as anybody. Like what was said earlier. If this was the and 1 tour Kyrie would be the best player in the league. There's more to basketball than listing individual skills. There's 4 other players on your team. The other team has 5 players. You didn't even list getting to the freethrow line which is the one of the strongest assets to have as a scorer.
