Still think james will commit to cavs. He is superconcious of his legacy and understands every decision he makes will have a lasting effect on the way he is remembered.

Going to a 3rd team is not a good luck, looks like he is mentally beat by the gsw. Lebron is still the best players in the world and there are a tonne of stars that still want to and will play with him.Right now its hard due to the timing and mostly everyone being locked away, but it will all work out.

100% WILL NOT LEAVE

Eventually nobody remembers anything but the number of rings you have, KD is already getting a pass for being the biggest bitch in NBA history.

If he wins 3-4 more rings people will talk about how great he is and some will start saying hes better than LeBron, nobody will even remember that he joined a 73-9 team 2-3 years from now.

This is unfortunately the sad truth, the only thing that actually matters is the rings, how you get them and what team you got them on does not matter.

Well if he goes to L.A he is wasting 2-3 years minimum because 2nd year PGs aren't always the best for winning titles and Brandon Ingram might not even be good let alone championship good.

If the Spurs didn't lock themselves into Gasol at 16m a year I would have been worried about them opening up two max slots next to Kawhi, and Houston is cappe ad out as well.

It's not like 2010 where Bron was almost definitely going to a better basketball situation. He could be downgrading. He's likely downgrading. It's why this Irving trade is so important. We need to get a return that either #1 improves the basketball situation for this year and beyond...which is unlikely . Or #2, gives us assets that allows us to either go out in the summer (or deadline) and get LeBron's choice of self recruited disgruntled star, or kickstart a rebuild if Bron decides to leave.

I don't think people will forget that. These are different times. Social media, message boards etc. Sure, some casual fans might forget it, but I think the majority of the fans will remember this. That 73-9 team was probably the most hyped team in the history of the NBA. And KD joined them after blowing a 3-1 lead against them. It's not an easy thing to forget.

As for LeBron, since he's still not retired, he has a ton of haters. Once he does retire, the nostalgia will start kicking in and people will objectively realize how great he really was as a player. I think people will start considering him as the GOAT over Jordan.

LeBron is already magnified at such a historic level while playing. The ONLY thing attributed to KD without bias is that he will possibly break the scoring record. At this point KD will have to oust LeBron as the best player (MVP is trivial at best in determining this argument). KD could finish his career NEVER being considered the best player in the league at ANY point. That doesn't bode too well for ever being considered better than LeBron or being considered the best to ever do it.

MJ was officially considered the best to do it around 1993 so 8 seasons in. LeBron started getting some traction but this became a serious debate in 2015-2016 after our title in his 13th season.

Still waiting on KD but it may never happen for a guy on a loaded team (KAJ, Magic, etc...). KD won't even garner the respect those LA greats got including Kobe and possibly even Shaq. His talent is undeniably on that level but emotions will continue to cloud over any momentum he creates, as long as he continues playing with Curry, who is less talented but more impactful to the end results.

Let's not be so sure about the long term analysis and opinions of Durant's move. Right now ESPIN is setting the narrative, but we know how they're opinions are held universally (low).
Durant is being looked at right now, and not in a historical sense.
When you look at what he did 20 years from now, my guess is it isn't going to propel him up the pole. He's a great player, but he took the easy route.
It's just unfortunate that LBJ is always the character ESPIN wants to destroy.

We'll see just how long KD is at the level he is currently at.

He's already had some serious foot problems. And almost broke his damn leg last year....

His game will age well due to shooting, but he's going to have to eventually transition to a little more of a Dirk style guy on offense when his first step isn't as good.

I think age will affect him defensively more than anything. And obviously he's got a good 3 years of his full athletic prime left. Ugh...I hate him. If his leg would have just been broken last year...like they thought after the first MRI... We'd probably be heading for a 3 peat...and Kyrie probably doesn't even ask for the trade.

Wow

Dude joins a 73 win team and has a good finals and we're already having this conversation

Just like those old dudes at the barbershop who say MJ was trash compared to Wilt and Bill no matter what stats say. When I'm old as fuck in a barbershop 30 years from now I don't care how many rings KD ends up with he will always be a bitch to me.

He will NEVER be in MJ conversations

Honestly I have a very hard time putting LeBron in those conversations now so you can imagine how I feel about KD

For me LeBron has been the best player since 2009-2010. But I feel during the 2011-2012 season he became the unquestioned best player, especially after winning the championship.

Its not Durant v Jordan ESPIN is pushing Durant vs LBJ...

Why are we having the conversation about KD being talked about as better than Lebron? First, we are assuming that the Warriors will continue to just win championships. That is not even close to being a given considering injuries/age/drive/etc. Second, who really cares who other people think is the GOAT? Obviously many people in Oakland think KD and Steph are already better than Lebron. If they get more rings they will use that argument. Some people think Lebron already better than Jordan, some do not. People use the category that fits their argument best (Rings, Finals appearances, states, stayed on one team).

My next comment is about Kyrie since this is his forum. I am really starting to think he will NOT be traded. I am not saying this is some huge conspiracy between ESPN and the NBA, but it is rather convenient after a lackluster regular and post-season, all of this turmoil hits the Cavs. With the amount of money ESPN has invested in the NBA, it is great for the Cavs to have these issues. It will be a great story Windhorst will put out in the future about how Lebron and Kyrie found a way to make it work. After resolving their issues, they can once again play GS for the 4th time.

None of Kyrie's reasons for requesting a trade made sense. The media can leak whatever information they want to people and players and hide its credibility by saying it's from 'sources'. I get more leery of believing the media by the day.

I have followed this Cavs forum for years, just recently joined. Just some of my thoughts.

Speaking of which here is a Twitter interaction today with KD... Disclaimer I am not a Trump supporter at all...didn't vote and didn't like either candidate ...this was just to let KD know I thought he was a bitch

Tell KD that Lebron needs someone like KD on the Cavs to cut down on his minutes.

The real reason: the trade was very likely not real.and this rumor is very likely untrue.

Nobody credible has even come close to mentioning this deal...yet we have full details of other potential trades.

So Phoenix was willing to trade Bledsoe + #4...

But now Phoenix is unwilling to trade Bledsoe+Josh Jackson...

Cavs didn't make the trade for Bledsoe+#4 because it was never offered.

The only legitimate trade Kyrie was likely involved in talks for was for Jimmy Butler. The Cavs ultimately said no...1. because we thought we were getting George for Love 2. Because we wanted to keep Kyrie 3. Because the Bulls wanted rebuilding pieces most likely.

Huh. Well guess a legit writer has spoken about it now...

“The final straw as to why [Kyrie] wants out of Cleveland… I’m told that the Cavaliers had a deal done heading into the draft.” […]

“Cleveland would send Kyrie to Phoenix, which does want Kyrie. (Suns owner) Robert Sarver wants Kyrie Irving. […] Phoenix would send Eric Bledsoe and the No. 4 pick back to the Cavaliers.

“The Cavaliers would send the No. 4 pick to Indiana for Paul George. So you’re getting Eric Bledsoe and Paul George for Kyrie Irving. Now, that was going to happen.

“Dan Gilbert goes to LeBron and goes, ‘Look, we’ve got this deal on the table. I’ll do it if you commit long-term to stay in Cleveland.’” […]

“But [LeBron] would not commit, so Dan Gilbert would not do the deal.

But hey I'm sure you're The Arbiter we need of #FakeNews

You know an unsubstiantiated rumor when you see one, only now it's been substantiated. But hey maybe Chris Broussard isn't LEGIT enough for you.

whatever.

Just think people can form opinions on their own w/o you telling them who to trust or not.

Still alive on this hill, view is great, how you living?
