LeBron Drops from 3rd fav player to 6th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He wouldn't come back for the fans, he would come back to fix his tarnished image. That's what it's all about.

I find it hard to believe this would be in anyway a PR move, simply because its a decent idea, and these guys are terrible at PR. My guess is LeBron probably has voiced some regret, but nothing of consequence. He ain't coming back, that ship sailed with the Boston series and "The Decision".

Lebron has a very interesting way of showing remorse, I suppose.

Fuck him.

Also, does anyone (maybe W&G or Max) know whether Lebron has had communication with his former teammates since "The Decision"? Seems like they're pretty upset about everything, and I can't imagine them being happy with the way things went down. Has he called and apologized for stringing them along like that, or did he just disappear completely?

I'm thinking Jawad and Z are the only ones he talked to, after the fact.

I can't see him admitting to everyone else that it was wrong the way he went about it. LeBron doesn't seem like the type to admit any wrong doing, at least not now.

The fact is that they are no longer his teammates and I'm sure he's had his "people" tell him that.

Once the season starts, any regret he has now, will disappear. But I think Pat Riley has probably laud some ground
rules that he isn't used to. The only organization he's known was the Cavs. I think the perks and everything he had/his friends had, was something he really took for granted.

I can't feel sorry that he realizes that the organization isn't going to kiss his ass. If anything, he feels sorry for himself.

He's no longer the player he once was because his game is going to have to change to fit in with Wade. He's no longer the captain or alpha-dog on the team. He's no longer beloved by his hometown (and his image took a hit across the country, possibly the world). With any big life decision there are regrets and wonderings. I don't doubt he wishes he could re-think this.

As a Cleveland fan, I cannot forgive:

1. The way he ended his playing here in Cleveland. Game 5 in Cleveland versus Boston was inexcusable and is indefensible. That is on him. That is his last Cleveland home game where he shoulders being a big part of the worst home playoff loss in team history. For someone who cares about championships, that right there is an enormous contradiction.

2. The way he left. We've gone back and forth as a board for weeks about "The Decision." I don't think I need to reiterate how classless and how much of a cheapshot that was to the Cavs. I'm sorry, but in many other lines of work, you give your bosses a think like notice before you leave - it's just professional courtesy. Five minutes before you go public isn't good enough especially to someone who wiped your ass for 5 years. Also as a fan, don't lie to me regarding something as monumental as your decision. Don't bring God or your mother in on something as a rationalization for a pact you made with your buddies.

3. And perhaps most damning, the way he's turned into LeBron the Recruiter. That's the ultimate slap in the face. That right there is the biggest reason why I do not want him back. To go from not recruiting at all in Cleveland to doing kickstands and dragging out the pom-poms mere days (probably even before - Mike Miller) after the announcement. That's a low blow, especially given if he had been a little more active, there could have been possible other changes to this lineup that would have left us in a little bit better situation than we are now. Again, this goes back to professionalism.

He's not worth the baggage or the drama. He has changed and I find it highly unlikely, given who he surrounds himself with and how much his arrogance continues to grow (he was almost not allowed to play in the 2008 Bejing Olympics for Christ's sake) that he'll honest-to-God become "humbled." He is so completely aloof and nonchalant about the "fans that he won the MVP before." He has not addressed Cleveland fans and showed no sign of emotion when his jerseys were burned in front of him. The coddling and defense of a star who doesn't care about anything other than himself is a waste of time.

Barkley (especially Barkley), Jordan, and Magic are all correct. This is not how someone who labels himself a competitor and alpha dog behaves. Getting together with the other best players in the NBA is something you do during the All-Star Game, the Olympics, or during your personal life. He did this for all the wrong reasons, and I don't care how many rings he may win, they will all come with an asterisk next to them. There will also be a bookmark in the chapter of his career where he failed in Cleveland. I will not give him a chance to come back and "make things right" because it'd only be for selfish reasons.

I hope souff beach gets hit by a hurricane.

I wouldn't say that, lots of people can't take a joke..

Well, the residents of South Beach could simply go back to the countries they are from if a hurricane wiped it out. No one is actually from South Beach/Miami. In fact; most aren't from the USA... and half of those are illegals.

I realize that too, but hurricanes do kill people.

I got word from someone close with Lebron that he's really had second thoughts, privately, about how everything rolled out, and even his decision to leave the team. The guy I talked to seemed to indeed express his opinion that he may eventually look to find his way back here at some point before his contract is even up in Miami. Just something I heard yesterday, actually...

He really doesn't believe that the final chapter has been written with him and the Cavaliers.

I think after Lebron plays his first game in Cleveland he will realize his final chapter was written with the Cavs and he will never be welcomed back... I cannot wait for the first game against the Cheat...

I appreciate the info (as always) W&G... but that said, FUCK YOU LEBRON.

Sounds to me like a spoiled kid who picked the wrong toy for Christmas and now wants mom and dad to drive him to the store and get the other one. LeBron made his bed here and now he needs to lie in it. The irony of the whole thing is that he bolted to escape the pressure. But he unknowingly ratcheted the pressure on himself up about 1000%. And how he couldn't have seen this coming truly blows my mind.

Keep in mind, this is coming from a person who ferociously defended LeBron against any and all critics no matter what he did while on the Cavaliers. I loved the guy. But I see his true colors now. I just had 7 days in Mexico to ignore everything besides my wife, sun, and alcohol. And somehow reading this makes me even more mad than I felt before. Damn it.
