LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am starting to believe LeBron is every bit as good as Michael. Not going to say better, I think they are equals. Both different players. I've seen Michael play in person, plenty of times.

Both of them just dominate the game. It's very similar. They do it in different ways, but their input basically identical. When they want to, they basically dictate the outcome.

When all is said and done, this will be the common and consensus opinion

Jordan had the benefit of learning the game during his 3 years of college.

He also played his early career without the noise/analysis of the internet and 24/7 coverage
of his every move/word.

Great player, but he wasn't Mr Perfect as those who barely saw him play insist.

I'd say a big factor that always gets overlooked in these types of debates too is that over the course of Jordan's career the league expanded by six teams and he largely missed the large influx of foreign talent the league has now.

In terms of basketball I agree, but I doubt LeBron will ever be the icon MJ is. Dude made the NBA brand into what it is today. His worldwide impact will never matched imo. Not to mention basically starting the basketball shoe industry, Space Jam, Jordan brand, etc.

Because he's LeBron, people may overlook this, but this is one of the best games of his career.

It's huge. He looked 25 again out there.

Yeah, I ran to the game finder to see if anyone had ever done that before. 35/12/5/3/3 with zero TOs has not only never been done in the playoffs before, it had never been done in the regular season before either.

And he did it with great efficiency too.

I think others have brought it up but it is evident that LBJ does those long ISOs when he is winded to gather up the energy for the explosion. Having Wade and now Ky has allowed him to just sit in the corner for a possession to get his wind rather than using up a possession. With Ky unable to attack a defense Bron has a heavy burden to carry.

Lebron was like - "fuck this jumpshot bullshit, I'm going to the rim try and stop me"

Freaking love it! Beast mode.
He took plenty of jump shots. The difference obviously was that he was making them, but he had a lot more shot attempts that were closer to the basket. Instead of taking long twos he was taking more mid range and short range jumpers. The long two should be all but eliminated from his game. He has a bad habit of taking shots a step inside the three point line. He has plenty of speed, strength and skill to pretty much always atleast get a decent look from he mid range. I loved how he was able to bully his way to the paint and take a little step back a few steps inside the freethrow line. He could feast on people for years with those kind of attempts.

I don't know dude. If you think about it, LeBron's status as an icon is pretty insane.

We're talking about the guy who was a household name as a high school kid - probably the most hyped up high school prospect of all time - and signed a shoe deal worth almost $100 million before even playing a game.

This is the guy who brought in Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Jay Z, Drake, and David Beckham to Cleveland, Ohio, to watch his return game.

The guy who prompts the publishing of hundreds of articles when he decides to play a game without his headband…

The guy who all eyes are on during the playoffs… and the first guy any member of the media or any fan usually references when talking about a series.

He has a net worth of almost $400 million and is well on his way to being a billionaire - the second billionaire athlete to, that's right, Michael Jordan.

And let's keep in mind he's only 30 years old. In 10 years, once he's out of the league and pursuing business interests, I think people will truly realize what he did for the NBA (I mean, half of ESPN would be jobless if it weren't for LeBron James) and also his global impact.

Fully expect LeBron to be at least a part owner someday. Probably a front office position as well.

Who knows, maybe with the Cavs.

Amazing picture, an even more amazing block. LBJ likely saved two games in a row with totally different types of heroics.

Maybe not, Jordan took the NBA to new peaks. Bird and Magic started it, Jordan expanded it.

All the marketing, sponsors, etc, was largely due to Jordan, so he did kind of pioneer the way for this generation.

But who knows. LB might be pioneering his own path. I love how no one ever really compares LB and Jordan's style's at all. It's easy to fall in that trap when you're great.

Everyone knows LeBron is his own player, nothing compares to him at all, much like Jordan when he came along, nothing close before him. Clearly their own players, that have set out on their own path.

People compare Wade and Kobe, their styles to Jordan, but LeBron never falls into that category (maybe early in his career but never anymore), because he's clearly his own identity as a player.

The most iconic basketball athletes of the last 20 years, is clearly these two though.

This is just a classic example of one of the best players to ever do it putting the team on his back. LeBron will literally drag this team to the finals by himself if he has to

At least here in Brazil I think MJs name is easily more recognized than LBJs.

Bulls games were shown on free TV back in the days, something that would never happen today because there is no demand.
