LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's a hot take? LeBron isnt winning the dann MVP award this year.

I think the real question is, does LeBron "care"? Does LeBron think that he can play at an mvp caliber during the regular season and still have enough in the tank to win a title?

The guy is the only one in the nba who currently has first hand experience in doing both. He knows his body his limits and knows what goes into the effort and exertion that goes into winning titles and mvps better than anyone.

Just fucking punt the 1 seed and be done with it

We've been doing this half assed hybrid approach which is resulting in the worst of both worlds. The 1 seed is in danger AND LBJ isn't getting the rest he should be getting

Once Marc Stein all but declared that LeBron James was anti-Semetic after the 2015 playoffs I basically stopped taking any criticism he had of LeBron seriously.

That being said, as @Rich said, there is no way that LeBron is going to win the MVP this year. Nor should he win the award given what some of the other candidates are doing. So it really doesn't matter anyway.

Nobody listens to Skip Bayless anymore so I understand why Marc Stein gave his Twitter username and password to Skip.

LeBron should still be in the top 2-3 in MVP votes. It's a bit reactionary to say he shouldn't even be in the race.
Imo yes LeBron should be in the top 2-3, but after looking at his season as a whole it’s hard to argue he should be #1 anymore over Harden, Kawhi, etc.

So if (most) agree he shouldn’t be #1, why does it matter if he finishes in the top 3 or not? You either win or you don’t win. They don’t give out runner up or third place MVP awards.

If they aren't going to gun for the 1 seed they may as well be the 4th seed for all it matters. I think homecourt matters some, but this team in the playoffs obviously can win on the road. I agree with @The Wizard of Moz, they may as well straight up punt on the 1 seed and rest LeBron every other game now. A fresh as possible LeBron is the only antidote for what we are seeing on the court from this team.

I disagree with this only because I don’t think this is the right mindset to have. Yes, this team obviously CAN win on the road. That doesn’t mean you don’t want to have every single advantage you possibly can.

To me, my main reason for wanting the 1 seed is not having to play Washington in the second round, because I think they’re a better and more talented team than Boston, and the real second best team in the East.

Seeding matters because I know I’d much rather play an underwhelming Raptors team with a hobbled Lowry in the second round and only ONE of Celtics/Wizards, as opposed to being the 2nd/3rd seed and likely playing both.

The more grind it out battles we have earlier in the playoffs, the more wear and tear we’ll have going into the Finals.

That assumes Washington stays in the third spot. The way the Raptors are playing, combined with Washington's upcoming schedule, doesn't make that a sure thing.

Over-under on the number of minutes Lebron plays tonight, his third game in four nights?

I will take the under on 38 minutes, I think Lue decides it's a bad look to actually play him 40 minutes again. But I could be wrong.

I'm not anti-Lue, but why did Lebron play more than 24 minutes tonight? Ridiculous.
