I'm not sure Lue gets another shot at being a head coach. I understand why he wanted a 5 year contract and also understand why the Lakers only wanted to give him a 3 year contract.

The Lakers might as well just move on from LeBron at this point. They aren't ready to commit to LeBron and winning. If they hire Jason Kidd because he is better at developing young talent, then it's idiotic to waste LeBron's last years.

My guess is we are going to see a trade request from LeBron after the Lakers strike out in free agency.

It’s a self congratulatory show about a bunch of bull**** and most of it nowhere near as sincere or as funny as real barbershop talk. Something about Maverick annoys me on that show, dude thinks he’s Steve Jobs mixed with Oprah like he’s some innovative genius but has either ADHD or simply poor listening skills, often repeating questions answered within another question. They have 20 people and only maybe 5 will say anything, can’t imagine those who’s parts got cut out are willing to come back. It’s a really cool flex that demonstrates how many famous people he’s acquired while being the best basketball player in the world. That’s it.

Without bring lbj’s best buddy in high school maverick aint nothing. Just coat tail riding his whole life

Not sure the lakers will wait for a trade request. For once lbj has zero control
Hope lakers trade him to sacramento. Lol
Just heard on radio a suggestion of lbj for anthony davis. Ultimate irony

That would be hilarious, but I think Davis is no longer under contract. I'd say ship him to Memphis. That would be hilarious

The hilarious thing is that LeBron blew a chance to potentially rework the Cavs and take another shot at a vulnerable GS team this year. But he has cost himself multiple championships by being impatient and changing situations rather than staying the course and re tooling things. When the going has got tough, LBJ has always got going.

I know everyone is giving the Lakers shit for not being able to lock down Lie, but giving him a five year deal would have been a massively stupid move.

Yeah, but he didn't want to do it. He wanted to be in LA, his kid wanted to be in LA (nobody points to that, but I think James Jr. playing on Crossroads HS was as important as the LA brand or whatever)

Agree. But it shows me the Lakers don't see LeBron there past the 3 years they are offering Lue. They were willing to pacify LeBron for the rest of this contract, but that's it. But it's weird to only half-commit to LeBron's will. Either go all in and bring in vets, or go with the youth movement and trade LeBron.

I think people need to appreciate how well Dan Gilbert and moreso David Griffin handled the LeBron/KI relationship while on our team. Both of these dudes are HIGH MAINTENANCE and are easily alienated.

Kind of funny that, after all the bitching, we basically ended up winning the Kyrie trade. Boston is about to flame out in the second round and Kyrie is about to bail on them without having won anything of note.
