LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
youre crazy

so lebron signed with the cavs, knowing blatt was the head coach . But lebron never gave blatt a chance, and wanted him gone immediately? to the point where lebron has intentionally faked an injured for the last 11 weeks, because thats how much he hates blatt.

When did I say he faked an injury? I believe he's actually injured...just not to the extent that he has to miss the next 2 weeks.

Also, why would Blatt being here deter LeBron from coming? That doesn't make much sense. Players pick where they want to play largely because of money offered and the personnel on the team. LeBron knew that if he came back he'd get things his way so I doubt the hire of coach Blatt would've deterred him from coming back especially since he was aching to come home anyway. He signed a two year deal with an opt out after the 1st year...he knew he'd essentially get to call the shots in terms of what he wanted because he has the leverage that, that contract created.

Furthermore, when you think about it LeBron really hasn't respected Blatt since he came back. Even after Bron came back it took him an entire month to even meet with Blatt face to face. I know LeBron had a busy summer but come on....he couldn't make room in his schedule to meet with the man who would be his head coach for the next "X" years? I really don't think Blatt has or had LeBron's respect or allegiance from Day 1 and that's evidenced by the aforementioned reasons along with the lukewarm (AT BEST) "endorsements" that LeBron's given him through the media. LeBron has been disrespecting Blatt through the media all season (remember when he said he didn't need to ask in terms of playing with the ball in his hands more? Or even when he dismissed Blatt's pep talks as a potential reason for the team playing better?).

I'm not pulling this out of thin air. We've heard from other sources (both on this board and from the national media) that LeBron wasn't a big fan of Blatt and he wasn't particularly enthralled with having him as his head coach. I'm just making connections based on what I know about the situation. LeBron one day says that the all the tests came back negative and then the next day we find out he's out for 2 weeks....the fuck? That makes no sense...

Bron hasn't liked Blatt from Day 1 and sitting out the next two weeks when our schedule just happens to be extremely tough and we're already sliding is a great way to put pressure on a rookie coach and get his wish; Dan Gilbert is our owner and is known for not being a man of patience and for making rash, impulsive decisions. It's not unreasonable to think that a stretch of losses here could push Gilbert over the edge and make him make a change.

If Blatt is fired sometime soon, the media will paint it as "Cavs meddling owner fires 3rd coach in 3 seasons" as opposed to "LeBron gets rookie coach fired"....LeBron would no doubt prefer the former as it would save him from the lashing the media has been giving him over the past several weeks.

I feel like I'm going crazy by actually believing this to be the case but there are so many signs that seem to support this. I guess time will tell.

If LeBron did the knee procedure stuff in Germany that Kobe did, I wonder if that could help prolong his career?

Here is the issue, I think Lebron is scared about the fact that Cleveland got him by the balls. What I mean by that is that now Gilbert and the rest will take him for granted because they, like the rest of the world, don't think he can leave Cleveland again. And Lebron can't, dumping Cleveland again would be a disaster.

I hope we get to see these 2 finally develop some chemistry.

I think the timing has a lot to do with it. LeBron's been experiencing knee and back soreness all season long. As a result, he's shown flashes of special moments, but in total, has looked like a regressed version of his former self on a number of big-play ocassions.

He looked more than fine when he broke out of 'chill mode' and he seemed to be moving around the court as freely as game 1 as he did against the Heat on Christmas Day when he smiled and celebrated his reunion with his beloved South Beach folk.

I believe that he truly is nursing an injury. But I don't think that injury has complicated much since the earliest part of the season. It seems, given the timing of the post-Miami conspiracy, the blown game against Detroit, rotational issues and Blatt on the hot seat, this period of time was deliberately selected for him to sit out.

When he publicly comes out and says "all my results are negative so I ain't worried," but then needs 2 weeks to rest and to heal, the timing seems all too suspect and just makes no sense given the things we've seen this past week.

I think he does need to nurse the injury (meaning he could play tomorrow if he wanted, but would prefer to sit out and reenergize instead), but given the current state of the team and the escalating circumstances, something tells me LeBron was more than happy to book an extended holiday and to observe the developments of this period from a short distance.

youre still crazy.

what in the world does dan gilbert gain by getting rid of blatt right now?

Bit of advice to Lebron's crew - getting rid of Blatt also gets rid of your fall guy after we get bounced in the second round.

He and others can talk about how this was supposed to be a process and how we didn't necessarily expect to win the championship in year one, but that is self-serving, rationalizing bullshit. A team with the best overall player, the number 3 PER guy, and a top 20 player/offensive savant should be on the shortest of lists to win the title. Anything short of losing in 6/7 in the ECF will be a gigantic disappointment and deservedly subject to ridicule. That blame goes to Blatt right now. If Lebron puts his guy in, that is on Lebron and Lebron alone.

I thought his crew was really savvy last summer and grabbed hold of the narrative. Are they dumb enough to fuck it up so quickly?

You keep saying I'm crazy but you haven't refuted a single point I've made. At least back up what you say with....something. Anything. Make a valid point. I feel like I'm wasting my time.

And isn't it obvious? By firing Blatt he appeases LeBron.\

FWIW, on Windy's podcast he said he's not even sure Lebron will be out 2 weeks. He thinks he could maybe even be back by the Kings game (Jan 11).

He thinks that the Cavs just decided that A) he needed rest after being so banged up and it was time to just let him heal for a little bit and B) announcing that it was two weeks rather than the day-to-day, will he or won't he play, type of thing eases the players minds to be able to prepare without him.

so he fires blatt to appease lebron? A player that loses literally everything by even THINKING about leaving again.

but if blatt is fired who the hell is going to take the new job? there would literally be no one available to replace blatt in the middle of the season. On top of that its going to take an even bigger search than last year, where it literally took going half way across the world to find someone willing to take the job. Gilbert is already viewed as a hot head, who has fired his coach each of the last two seasons. So he is goig to to fire his new coach 2 month into the season trying to appease a player that isnt leaving.

got it.

@bob2the2nd

I think you are either in denial or a bit behind on information in here, most likely the latter. Frankly, I was more in agreement with you for a while.

There is absolutely someone who could take over right now- Lue. And there is someone who could come in and take the job next year and whom LeBron wants in the job anyways.

Firing Blatt would damage Gilbert far less than losing LeBron in two years would, or even dealing with LeBron sabotaging a coach all season. At least that's the way Gilbert likely sees it based on all of his previous decision making as the Owner/GM of this team.

What he SHOULD do is tell LeBron to fuck off and play with the incredible hand he's been dealt.

Whether he'll make the right decision or not is anyone's guess.

Too many conspiracy theories. Lebron is hurt, blatt will figure out how to use Kevin love while he is gone, and Lebron comes back and we go on a tear. David blatt will be the head coach for a long time. I don't understand the hate for Lebron, everyone was freaking out for him to come here and now he's the worse thing ever.

I don't post much but people need to chill out. They will get this figured out and the Cavs will be a completely different team in two months.

Lol that's just not true. You're stretching the truth to fit your narrative here.

Why are you being so ignorant? As if I'm supposed to believe you haven't heard the whispers that LeBron would be eager to play for Tyron Lue (a former player), or Mark Jackson (another former player and a coach represented by Klutch agency *LeBron's group*). As if you haven't heard that George Karl is chomping at the bit to coach this team. We have the best player in the world, getting a new coach in here wouldn't be a problem.

And you say LeBron loses literally everything in terms of his reputation and legacy but likewise CLEVELAND loses literally everything by him leaving. He can't afford to leave because of the hit his legacy would take (people said this the first time around too) and we can't afford to let him go because without him our future outlook is shit.

Both sides have leverage here. It's just a matter of which side you believe to have more leverage. I think the threat of LeBron leaving again is real so I think he has more leverage.

If LeBron left Cleveland again, it would be to go to another ready made championship team. People would laugh their asses off at Cleveland, as they always do. LeBron would continue to be described as a champion and one of the GOATs because he'd have won again. And our kids and their kids wouldn't care what happened with cleveland when they see him ranked in the top 5 in all the goat countdowns and statistics.com. They'd just get on their hoverboards and coast away to dunk on their 12 foot rims with moving backboards knowing nothing of the embarrassment and irritation LeBron inflicted on Cleveland sports fans twice.

LeBron, he of the two year contract, has all the leverage here. It's simply a matter of whether Dan has the balls to show he's done his part in giving him a championship cast and it's time for LeBron to just shut up and win.
