LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well it says that hell is real off the side of the highway so now I am just confused.
That drive down 71 sucks.... Every time I visit Cleveland, that's my reminder on my way out.

So do we think that LBJ will only be down for 2 weeks? Given injury prognosis' in the past, I'm thinking we're looking more at 3-4 weeks being the likely return time.

But the big concern is re-injury or doing further damage. This is one of those lingering kinds of injuries where it is incurred not as a result of direct collision or damage within the context of any said play. The worry from here is going to be placed on LeBron's ability to recover 100% from this kind of thing.

Honestly, I'm not expecting him to be completely pain-free for the rest of his career from now. He's at that point now where I feel like any strain on his body is going to require an adjustment in play to consolidate for a lack of athleticism, precision, skill set etc.

I have this terrible feeling that he may return after a 2-3 week period only to realize that nothing has improved, he's still playing with a slight pain and it's not something that he can simply sit-out and wait to heal itself. He's going to have to play through it if he wants to close out the season strong.

Now, of course, I'm no doctor - I'm just working with my pessimistic vibes, that's all :chuckle:

LMAO. I know what you're talking about. That stretch of 71 is the signal that you've reached that "barren zone" between Outer Columbus and Outer Cincinnati

I actually think the opposite. LeBron will come back a little sooner than two weeks. Windhorst seems to think the same thing as well. He may not be 100%, but the rest should still do him a lot of good.

I just want him to start doing some HGH again. And to be healthy for at least 5 more seasons.

If he's smart- he'll stay out a little longer.

I agree. I actually think the rest will do him real good and he'll be back sooner. His first game back should be really good in fact. It always is.

I didn't want to 'like' this post but this is my fear too. If this isn't any specific diagnosable injury but it's just his body breaking down thanks to playing a hugely demanding perimeter game at 260 pounds for 12 straight years of record minutes -- that is bad news, he won't be the same player for the rest of his career. He'll be a really good player, at times great, but not the locomotive that could pull an inferior team to the finals.

Which is why this Cavs set-up is ideal for him. At least in the offensive aspect. Regardless of his age, I still feel he has a couple of years in him where he can drop 30 on any team but after a couple of years, he would become a Magic Johnson-esque player where he would the facilitator and let Love and Kyrie be the primary scorers. Defensively though is where it will get tricky. He is still a very good defender when he switches it on but he can't do that throughout the regular season now. Kyrie and Love being younger are the ones who should improve their defensive game and take some load of LeBron.

The NBA plays smaller now. To me, Lebron might be better suited playing defense against power forwards these days, the small forwards tend to be lightning quick. And he can't do that on this team. At least when they actually have a center.

Was watching NBA tv last night, and both Rick Fox and Brent Barry were not surprised that Lebron is out. They pointed out Bosh has missed time too. And Wade..well...he always does. They said the same happened to them and their teammates during the championship years. Those Miami guys just went on a huge 4 year run. Lot of minutes and games. And add in the international games too for Lebron!

One thing that is obvious with Lebron out is how he is a ball stopper on offense. The ball moves better with him out.

We all knew that, including back to his previous days with the team, but it's obvious now.

Then again, he was a ball stopper with Miami too and they did pretty well.

To me, he is not 100% this year, that has been a problem. You can live with his shortcomings, but not if he is performing below his standard.

Keep him out until he is truly ready. The team will make the playoffs anyways in the East.

Not so sure about that. This team is looking like a lottery team without him.

Really? You realize his assist percentage is 38.2% (second highest in his career)? I highly doubt he is a "ball stopper."
