LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was it just me, or did it seem like LeBron was taking LeISO to a whole new level tonight?

I'm not saying it wasn't effective. He shot well, and sometimes he was taking advantage of mismatches. But if there was any time the ball stuck... Somebody help me out with some stats.

Yeah. He did. I don't see any issue with it though. Kenny Smith made that point in Inside The NBA. Its alright if its someone like LeBron, Kobe or Jordan doing it because they have shown they can win championships with it. But they should be the only ones having that kind of license and freedom because of who they are. Also, I feel we will slowly see him going less on the ISO-mode after the All-Star break when the entire team is in sync with each other and starts preparing for the playoffs.

There is no perimeter superstar without iso ball, its here to stay. Lebron has been doing it for more than a decade, very unlikely will any system change that.

I know they have plenty to work out on offense, but I would like to see some more designed plays where LeBron gets the ball in a very good position to score, whether on the move or close to the basket. There were some good opportunities tonight, including that great backdoor cut that led to a reverse layup attempt. Just felt like he could be more integrated. The same is true for Irving in some games, though not so much tonight.

Obviously, LeBron could overpower some of the smaller Bulls in tonight's game, and it's a regular season game. But one of the problems earlier this season involved players (not just LeBron) turning to ISO-mode when the going got tough. I don't see that as sustainable, I guess.

One thing I have noticed is that LeBron has operated from the post several times in the past few games and that is something I noticed less frequently before his two weeks off. I also notice that the Cavs do run a system (at times) that includes LeBron rolling off picks withe Kyrie or Delly running the offense. Now, there were times where LeBron caught the ball and wasn't quite sure what to do next because no one was open, nor was anyone trying to move. That should change as he gets more and more acclimated to this team, but for now, I suspect his first instinct in this scenario is try to break down the defense himself and make a play, whether that be with a pass, layup or jumper.

By the way, LeBron's 16-22 foot jumper has really turned into a thing of beauty. He's deadly from there right now and opposing defenses are still giving it to him.

Usually its just the 4th Qrt the ball sticks in his hand. But yea this time he did it throughout the game.

Hopefully Blatt can start utilizing LeBron catching quick hitters to the hoop. I'm ok with LeISO later in games. But all he does is tire himself out when doing that all game.

Its been going on for almost the entire season. At this point, seems as though we just need to hope LeBron plays well out of it. Unlikely to change this year.

I personally think LeBron played like absolute shit. He hit some tough shots, but he looked extremely lazy on multiple possessions, the one where Snell got the dunk was notable. I don't think Bron gave two fucks about this game. Since they were missing Jokim, it wasn't a true test of can we beat the Bulls, hence LBJ wasn't totally into it. Kyrie made some boneheaded plays where Love had a pin down with a much smaller man guarding him, and Kyrie went into tunnel vision, it was terrible.

Bron just isn't fully into some of these games and he casually gets 30 points, and I'm like are you kidding me? If he actually gave a damn he'd have 38-40.

21-12 with James, 1-7 without now?

Amazing even half-ass Lebron can change this team from a lottery team to a contender.

I watched the game over and recognized that LeBron made a number of assists-to-be that were foiled by various players (mainly Mozgov under the hoop and Love outside). I also noticed what AZCavs noticed about the Cavs making a concerted effort to get him the ball in the mid-to-low post, which they accomplished a half-dozen times. He also made an effort on offense to help free up Love in the low-post, which didn't work out so well. I guess I was bothered at the time by some of the first-quarter decisions and couldn't shake the memories.

LeBron was active on defense, even if he gave up on a couple plays, and the team as a whole was in the right place often on defense, including a strong effort to shut down transition points. I don't think he was half-assing it, though he may have (rightly) noticed that the kind of full-out effort he made against the Clippers was not necessary.

Kyrie is starting to take advantage of Mozgov's monster screens. I think we have that to look forward to even more with LeBron.

There is a measure of difference between dogging it and smartly conserving energy. The difference is mental. He looks like he was very vigilant in ensuring the Cavs kept their lead.

Had the game slipped out their control he would have dialed it back up.
