LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The best thing about LBJ's performance was that he was engaged defensively from the start. That flowed through the team. It sucks that Lebron sets the tone for the ENTIRE team each game. When he plays lazy, the team plays lazy. When he's engaged, the whole team plays together.

I hope he realizes that. An effective leader does not simply instruct others, rather they inspire others to do their best. All we have heard from LBJ is that he needs to be leader of this young team. The time is now to put-up or shut-up. While i don't expect him to be this engaged defensively until the end of the season, i do expect him to turn it on in crunch-time. He has no more excuses.

Yeah, not happy with LeBron looking more selfish than usual. It has to do with trust. Slowly he will start to trust the team more. He just always thinks he's the better option. It's usually true but c'mon move that ball sometimes

I dont think its that bad.. He is in scorer mode right now i call it his "MJ" Mode
He also has that "Magic" Mode he usually switches between them from time to time.. Nothing to be worried about

Also 30ppg 5apg Lebron was the best version of him(2012 Playoff run)
So if it means he stays agressive i can live with a bit more Scoring Dominance.

Agreed.. The Team needs to find some kind of Identity apart from Lebron.. he cant be 110% For a whole season EVERY Game.. He will lead them most nights, but the rest of the Team needs to be ready to pick him up once in a while when he as an off Game.

My least favourite LeBron moment was when he airballed that 3 after waiting 15 seconds and jabbing his foot randomly... He was being guarded by E'twan Moore... Come on man, drive on him. I hate that he never takes advantage of the mismatches presented against him. He's been terrible when smaller defenders have switched onto him.

Part of that is the Shaq effect. Same problem for him against the Mavs in the finals. He tried to back down a small guard, they would fall and he'd pick up an offensive foul.

Its the reason he almost choked away the Spurs game 6 in 2013. He had just picked up an offensive foul on a flop by Parker. The Spurs put Parker on LeBron again and then wasted 8 seconds, played nervous and had a turnover.

Saw how he bulldozed Gasol? He does that against guards and the refs will think offensive foul by default.

It would be nice if he could figure it out. However, LeBron needs to react instead of thinking of so much. In a lot of ways he's like Peyton Manning. His intellect is his greatest gift, but also a curse. He'd rather spend 10 seconds thinking of the perfect play instead of just trying to make a play.

I think leiso is here for the season in a big way until he trusts the offense. My thing for LeBron is he sets the worst screen the entire nba. I wish he would just make contact before popping. It's just a waste of time. The rest of it I can live with

Worse than this?

I think the biggest problem with LeBron is he always seems to default to "conserving energy" mode, unless there's something to set him off. It's really easy to tell when he's in all-out attack mode and when he's not.

LeBron James misses Tuesday's Cleveland Cavaliers practice with flu-like symptoms, status vs. Utah Jazz to be determined Wednesday
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – The Cavaliers held practice without All-Star forward LeBron James on Tuesday.

James is dealing with flu-like symptoms and stayed home to recuperate.

"Hopefully it's nothing serious as far as an illness is concerned, but we wanted to let him rest," head coach David Blatt said after practice.

The team will see how he feels Wednesday morning and decide if he's able to give it a go against the Utah Jazz at The Q following morning shootaround.

This explains why James didn't seem himself on Monday.

Before the 108-94 rout of the Chicago Bulls, he was sitting quietly by himself at his locker stall. Usually he's in more of a jovial mood and cracking jokes with teammates and team staff.

Well, that kind of kills the momentum we were finally building up...hopefully the Bulls win was enough to silence the Blatt critics. Dammit.

If we can't beat the Jazz at home without Lebron then that is something to know sooner rather than later. It will be a good test.

The only way I can see him doing the dunk contest is if the All Star contest is in Cleveland. But he will be 33 in 2018. Lets see. Imagine him doing the dunk contest though. The hype!

I actually think this would be the year, just to try to disprove everyone who says he's done and has lost all his athleticism.

The Cavs' ORtg since James's return: 120.6

For reference, the Spurs's ORtg in last year's finals: 120.8

This is despite a bunch of careless turnovers James has made and a bunch of bad shots James has taken. This is despite a bunch of ISO ball from Ky and James. Bottom-line: there's a reason people thought this offense could break records and we're seeing it with a team scoring efficiently DESPITE taking some poor shots and turning the ball over all the damn time (James). When this team creates and gets used to a mix of system and ISO, gains chemistry and shows natural flow (still might take a while), and values the ball, it really, REALLY could be something.

Less turnovers helps our defense

LeBron has been absolutely miserable this season at turning the ball over.

He's tied for 3rd in the league in TO's per game at 4.0. It is the highest figure of his career.

His TOV of 5.5 per 100 is the first time in his career he's broke 5.0 or higher.

His TOV% per 100 possessions is 15.3%. That is insanely high. Especially for a guy who isn't a primary ball handler.

Maybe the craziest stat though is LBJ has 40 more TO's than Kyrie on the season despite playing 6 fewer games. Yikes.

With that said, our team is in the top 10 for fewest TO's per game (13.2). That is mainly being buoyed by Love and Kyrie posting career low numbers in the category. If they normalize at all, we'd quickly become a below average team when it comes to taking care of the ball.

Where we can improve dramatically is creating turnovers. Cleveland is just #22 in the league in TO's forced (12.8 per game). That number has to come up if we're going to be an elite team.
