LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So let me get this straight...are you dumb enough to actually think that age won't catch up to a 30 year old athlete sooner than later?
Yes... When the 30 year old turns 40.

Take this guy:

Dude's like 80 years old and still ballin' out.

My response is quick and simple. LeBron can take what ever game off that he wants. As long as it's not Friday night against Sacramento.

You're missing the premise of my argument. It's absolutely something you need to be cognizant of, but not something that should scare you simply because Kobe Bryant has been oft-injured at an older age. To me, it's a non-issue right now for a guy who is naturally gifted in terms of physical makeup.

He's 30 years old. Windhorst implicating that the Cavs are mishandling the situation is a reach.

That, I agree. Also, I don't think LeBron would ever become a Kobe Bryant. Simply because Kobe never expanded his game. Even now, he is a volume shooter whose primary asset is scoring. LeBron though could contribute in so many different ways that it wouldn't be any issue for him. He can end up as a four where he would have to do less running or run the point with Kyrie as the shooting guard. Thats what Duncan did as well. He understood the effects of old age and ended up becoming more of amongst the ones than THE ONE who had to do it all.

This season, I don't think he needs anymore rest except probably once or twice at max. Blatt has been managing his minutes better. The team is slowly trying to learn to finish the game early in the fourth quarter so that it helps LeBron rest more.

Ok some people here are clearly overreacting to pre Rest Lebron

He was still doing 25/5/7/1.5/0.8 on 49/36 while clearly beein injured. Honestly if pre Rest Lebron is a forecast of what he can do well into his 30s i take that!!

Also i dont get where that "rest him asap" thought comes from.. he plays 36 Minutes since his return.. thats the Lowest clip of his career by far.. He IS Resting for his standards.

People also tend to overreact way too much on the age of 30.. its not a magical age where EVERYONE falls of a cliff.. Most of the All Time Greats had their most sucsess come in their 30s at least Team Sucsess wise. Will his numbers slowly go down over the years? sure.. propably.. but some people act like he will end up ala Steve Francis or Marbury... who where basically done on a NBA Level once 30...

He is way more likley to have Karl Malone or Kobe longlivity.. He will stay MVP Lebron till 35 i think, maybe even longer.

He has the best Body in NBA History.. and takes great care of it.. nobody knows how he will age. Sure he and the Coaching/Fitness Trainer Staff need to adapt to him aging.. but that doesnt mean he cant stay amazing for quite some years.

Baseball, well known as a uniquely physically taxing sport. Right up with softball.

Also, do you not remember that Jordan was a pale shadow of himself at 40?

Yeah, baseball is a sport where guys can eat buffet food before the game and Wade Boggs can pound sixty beers on a cross-country flight. It's not a terribly physically taxing sport.

What are you talking about? Yes, we do know how he will age. He will start to break down somewhere in his 30s and it will happen quickly. The more he lessens the miles now, the less likely it is to happen in his early to mid 30s. If we are careful now, then he can extend his prime until his late 30s.

It's really quite simple. You guys are making it this complicated thing for no reason. LeBron is getting older. LeBron needs to start resting much, much, more. If he doesn't, then the likelihood of age catching up to him increases substantially with each year into his 30s.

This is truth. LeBron is was not created in a laboratory--he is not an X-men. Age catches up to everyone, and it will with LeBron as well.

I dont know that there is any science behind your post.

You notice the kid is wearing a Kyrie jersey? LeBron just wanted to show this little snot nose punk, what's up.

LeBron questionable tonight because of fall on wrists.

I'd be intrigued with a Kyrie-Smith-Shump-Love-Mozgov starting group. Get creative with the rotations so that either Love or Irving be on the floor at all times and see how the team runs through both of them.
