LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LeBron doesn't deserve the MVP this year. It's as simple as that. This isn't 2011 when they gave the MVP to someone else to spite LeBron for choosing to team up with superstars. LeBron spent the first third of the year playing like a lazy fucker and trying to get his coach fired. He only started actually trying in January.

To be fair, he also tried to get his coach fired in 2011, but 2011 lazy LeBron was still significantly better than 2014 lazy LeBron.
How in the world can anyone disagree with this? The homerism is so strong.

It's especially ironic seeing as almost all of us were pissed at LeBron early this year for his obvious lack of effort on the court and failure to buy in off of it. To his credit, he's now bought in and playing like an MVP, but the MVP is an entire year award, and you can't discount LeBron's play over the first third of the season, or those two weeks he took off to nurse minor injuries.

Curry or Harden (as much as I hate him) deserve the award more, and Westbrook should probably get it just based on how ridiculous he's been playing the past month.

I've been watching the NBA seriously for a long time, and tbh, I don't even recall how many MVP's guys have won. I can recall a few controversial ones, and if a guy has won multiple times, but I can tell you exactly how many titles every great player has in his career.

I'm ok with LeBron not getting MVP. Curry and Harden are more deserving.

But trying to get his coach fired? Not acknowledging that he was dealing with injuries to his back and knee earlier in the season.

LeBron lost out on his chance to win MVP. But this sabotage junk is still a joke to me. Oh and if you honestly think LeBron was playing lazy in 2011 you're clueless.

If you've kept up with whats happened with LeBron over the years he didnt start chill mode until 2013. He played lazy to start the season last year as well. He could just preserve his energy and the Heat team had enough chemistry to still win.

He always hits his stride in January. Thats nothing new. Thats a well known observation.

He did this in his first year in Miami, Wade had to talk to LeBron about it and had to get LeBron to buy in, if I remember.

No Heat fan validated that claim when the LeBron trying to get Blatt fired rumors were starting. Didnt see it on Realgm or other forums. Also...I'm sure that would have been a big pretty big deal back then right?

People believe what they believe. He didnt sabotage the Heat in order to get him fired.

As I've stated before. Some people dont know the difference between not embracing your head coach and actively trying to get him fired.

As far as to start the season. Is it possible that a guy who went to 4 straight NBA finals, thats known to coast to start the season (the last 2 years or so), dealing with knee and back injuries and just happened to be a real funk on a team team.....

struggled?

No bias. LeBron was bad for LeBron. The Cavs win more if the Best Player played liked he was supposed to be the best player. There were a number of other factors that played into that. The team actually went on a 8 game win streak while LeBron was "sabotaging"

Not to drift off into another topic. But this belief that LeBron is so almighty I dont buy. He can willing play terrible to fire his coach and then have a sudden change of mind to switch back into the best player....is laughable. Maybe he just got healthy. Maybe he finally was able to adjust.

Its a bait topic....and I took the bait. I'm leaving it alone though.

The same report back when LeBron was with the Heat about Coach Spo being on the hot seat, also came around the same time Blatt was on the hot seat.

I'm just saying, there were reports back during the first season in Miami where Spo was on the hot seat for a couple of months, just like Blatt was for a couple of months as well.

Whether you want to believe it or not, it happened.

Because the dude has been dropping triple doubles and keeping his team in the playoff hunt despite losing two of their three best players. Yeah, he missed some time this year, but he's a 6'3" guard and he's damn near averaging a triple double down the stretch.

Yahh but that's just in the last month... you yourself said its an YEARLY AWARD... not taking anything away from the amazing stuff his doing but a level of consistency in required I think...

Anyway, as Im sure everybody know, Curry is gonna get the MVP award... and he deserves it. Maybe he's not 'carrying' the team like Harden and Westbrook but he is still the most influential player this year. He just makes everyone around him better

Neither Westbrook or Lebron desereve it. Lebron has the whole voter fatigue obstacle as well as the team record is slightly underachieving due to bad start/injuries. Not to mention his stats aren't even the best in the league this year. And if Kobe couldn't win it in 06 averaging 35 ppg on a 7th seed ,Westbrick sure as hell aint winning it this year on an 8th seed

Agree on Curry and Harden deserving it more than Lebron but how can you dismiss Lebron's MVP case by saying that he played "like a lazy fucker" at the beginning of the year while at the same time saying Russ should "probably get it based on ridiculous he's been playing the past month."
